Tesla Cybertruck Delayed Until Early 2023

Production of the Tesla Cybertruck has been delayed until 2023 as the automaker makes changes and improvements to the vehicle.
A person familiar with the Tesla Cybertruck program told Reuters last week that production of the vehicle has been pushed back to the end of the first quarter of 2023. The American automaker is allegedly working to make improvements to the vehicle amid increased competition from rivals such as General Motors, Ford and Rivian. Tesla representatives did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
The Tesla Cybertruck was first unveiled in 2019 and was previously set to enter production in late 2021 before CEO Elon Musk delayed the vehicle to late 2022 and now early 2023. The strange-looking battery-electric pickup debuted with a tri-motor powertrain, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in a claimed 2.9 seconds, along with a large battery pack providing an estimated 500 miles of range. An entry-level model with 250 miles of range and a mid-grade model with 300 miles of range were also both announced in 2019.
Since the Cybertruck debuted, Musk has said the single motor version of the truck will be dropped, with the automaker instead set to offer dual, triple and quad-motor variants only. In a tweet sent in December, Musk said initial production will focus on the range-topping four motor Cybertruck variant, which will feature “independent, ultra fast response torque control of each wheel.”
With production of the Tesla Cybertruck delayed until early 2023, it’s possible the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will beat its sci-fi-inspired rival to market. GM said previously it would begin producing the Work Truck (or WT) variant of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV in spring 2023, and given Tesla’s previous production setbacks and delays, it seems likely the Silverado EV will arrive to market first. The fully loaded Silverado EV RST First Edition, which is a more direct comparison with the Cybertruck, will enter production in fall 2023.

Like every thing else from Tesla, it looks like it was designed by preschoolers with a penchant for sci fi.
Schwarzenegger said he wants one of these. Not because it’s green but because it looks like the taxi from Total Recall. They asked him how long he’ll enjoy driving the truck and he replied, “ 2 WEEKS, 2 WEEKS, 2 WEEEEEKS.”
Gets uglier every time I see it. Can’t be euthanized soon enough.
Probably for safety reasons (sarcasm) seeing how they can’t produce the cars they’ve been producing without forgetting to install some crucial components like brake pads and what not.
Everyone who has commented on this story has to admit that when they first saw Elon was on stage with this thing and they broke the supposedly “ Impenetrable “ glass window, people were thinking…..WOW this is an expensive, elaborate joke. I thought it was a promotional gag for the Tesla nameplate, not an actual vehicle reveal.
Design by T square and straight edge. What happened to bio kinetic design?
The Millenials and Generation Xer’s are tripping on this design from their input to me at last years SEMA Show.
First to market will be of no consequence if GM doesn’t have a meaningful production target. Tesla is going to wipe the floor with the Silverado when Cybertruck starts getting pumped out of the Austin Factory at 250k per year…. How many EVs are GM going to make this decade? Less than 1million….if they can make it to the end of the decade.
The CT is basically a movie prop. It’s Tesla’s Aztek.
