Refreshed 2022 Silverado, 2022 Sierra Configurator: What We Know

The fully refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 and 2022 Sierra 1500 debut a long list of upgrades and changes over the preceding 2021-model-year vehicles and pre-fresh 2022 Limited models. However, the online configurator for both models has yet to drop, leading many to question what’s going on. As such, we’re laying out everything we know thus far.
First, let’s briefly recap. General Motors unveiled the refreshed 2022 Silverado in September of 2021 and the refreshed 2022 Sierra that following October. Then, in November, GM Authority published GM’s internal launch timeframe for the updated 2022 Silverado, indicating that the online configurator was expected to go live without pricing info on December 15th, and with pricing info on January 5th, adding that the dates were subject to change, especially when considering the massive supply chain disruptions resulting from the ongoing global microchip shortage.
Obviously, those dates have come and gone without the updated 2022 Silverado and 2022 Sierra online configurators going live. So where are we now?
Well, General Motors is clearly behind schedule, presenting us with a relatively strange scenario. As it stands, dealers can currently place orders for the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 and 2022 Sierra 1500 trucks, and in fact have been doing so since the first order cycle went into effect December 16th of 2021. However, customers can’t configure the vehicles in question. This is indeed odd, and we can’t think of any recent GM vehicle launch where this has taken place.
In any event, GM Authority sources now tell us that the updated 2022 Silverado and 2022 Sierra online configurators should go live any day now, with one source close to the automaker telling us that the configurators will be online by mid next week. Again, we repeat that the timeline is fluid and subject to change.
In the meantime, you can check out photos of every refreshed 2022 Silverado trim level thanks to exclusive GM Authority coverage.
To note, the the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2022 GMC Sierra are offered with four engine options, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine with more torque than ever before the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 and atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engines, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.
Both trucks ride atop the GM T1 platform, with production scheduled to start February 7th at the GM Silao Plant in Mexico, and March 7th the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana. The GM Oshawa Plant in Canada will also produce the new Silverado, but not the Sierra.
As first reported by GM Authority, pricing for the refreshed 2022 Silverado starts at $33,195, including destination and freight charges. Meanwhile, the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra starts at $32,495.

Just configured the Sierra Elevation I ordered in mid-December on the Costco Auto site. Came in at $56,855 MSRP. THANK GOD I get the GM discount, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered it.
Google “Costco Auto Program”. It’ll pop up in your search. Easy to find.
I am from Canada and we dont have prices yet and our dealer doesnt either, was wondering can americans order trucks yet either?
Just spoke to GMC and it won’t be until sometime in late March or early April. They weren’t sure of a date themselves but said trucks should start hitting lots around then and at that time the configurator would be updated online.
What a joke
Do dealers in the U.S have pricing on the new trucks
This article needs an update. It’s been over a week and still nothing.
Dealers do have pricing and can configure a truck. Costco site agrees with the pricing I got from my dealer for the truck I ordered. The way I understand it is no allocations since production hasn’t started yet. I just hope production starts on target, but it probably won’t.
It would be nice to configure online to make sure I didn’t miss anything or there isn’t a better configuration for me.
For what it’s worth. I was able to configure a 2022 Silverado (Refresh) LTZ with a dealer in San Diego County. My order is currently at Code 3300 with an expected production date for the week of March 7, 2022.
*** still no configurator ***
🤣
According to WFMZ dot COM, Carl Black Chevy has refreshed 2022 Silverados in stock LMOF
is chevy just trying to push the last of the Limited’s off the lot before they start talking about, promoting, or configuring the refresh?
seems odd that we’re about to be in Feb and this still isn’t live.
Place your bets, folks!!! Will it or won’t it happen tomorrow!?!?!?
