Just last week, General Motors unveiled the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, a high-powered performance variant of the popular luxury SUV. Now, GM Authority has confirmed that General Motors will also offer a new extended-length 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV body style thanks to the following photos.
When General Motors unveiled the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V last week, the automaker declined to share anything specific with regard to available body styles, powertrain specs, or anything else for that matter. Instead, GM showed the new high-performance SUV in a standard-wheelbase layout. Now, however, these new GM Authority photos confirm that a new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV will also be offered.
This particular 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV is covered in Black Raven paint, not to mention a healthy dusting of Michigan winter road grime. Also of note is the black window trim (also known as Daylight Opening trim, or DLO trim), the black pillars, and black quad exhaust tips, plus the more aggressive front fascia and red front brake calipers.
Besides the long body style, everything else about the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV will be identical to the standard-length model revealed last week. That means the performance SUV will draw motivation from the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, the same motor found under the hood of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, Chevy Camaro ZL1, third-generation Cadillac CTS-V, and C7 Corvette Z06. Output numbers are still forthcoming, but GM Authority sources confirm that the Escalade-V will produce at least 640 horsepower.
A 10-speed automatic transmission will harness all that go, while upgraded brakes and Magnetic Ride Control suspension with special tuning will be on hand to keep it all shiny side up.
As a reminder, the standard Cadillac Escalade measures in with an overall length of 211.9 inches and a wheelbase of 120.9 inches, while the extended-length Cadillac Escalade ESV is 227 inches long with a wheelbase of 134.1 inches. The extra length in the ESV contributes to greater third-row passenger room and cargo room.
Under the skin of both Escalade models is the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
