Announced in September 2021, the fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 introduced all kinds of updates and. changes to Chevy’s (and GM’s) most popular vehicle. Among these was the all-new 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2, ushered as the most off-road-capable Silverado model ever. One of the items that has often gone underreported about the new Silverado ZR2 is that it will offer two wheel choices.

Standard 2022 Silverado ZR2 wheel: 18-inch aluminum machined face wheel with Black Painted spokes and Oxide Gold painted outer ring accents (RPO code RCW)
The standard wheel (RPO code RCW) is an 18-inch aluminum machined face wheel with Black Painted spokes and Oxide Gold painted outer ring accents.
The optional wheel (RPO code RQL) is an 18-inch Gloss Black wheel. Incidentally, both Silverado ZR2 wheels feature the same six-spoke design, with narrow inner spokes leading to a wider outer spoke design.
Both wheels are exclusive to the Chevy Silverado ZR2 and are wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, and neither wheel is beadlock capable.
The Chevy Silverado ZR2 is equipped as standard with advanced Multimatic DSSV dampers and retuned springs to deliver improved front and rear suspension travel. Slotting above the LT Trail Boss as the flagship off-road Silverado model, the ZR2 features front and rear e-lockers for enhanced traction, while the high-approach steel front bumper features removable end caps. Underbody skid plates protect the mechanicals, and the dual exhaust system was relocated in front of the rear bumper.
All that translates to 11.2. inches of ground clearance, a 31.8 degree approach angle, 23.4 degree breakover angle, and 23.3 degree departure angle.
The only powerplant offered is GM’s naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
Towing capability of the Silverado ZR2 is slightly lower than the Trail Boss.
Pricing for the 2022 Silverado ZR2 will start at $65,100. That amount does not the include the destination freight charge (DFC) of $1,695 USD. The combined amount is $66,795 USD.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 lineup features front end design changes and a new cockpit with fully digital displays, offered on the LT trim and higher. There’s also several powertrain changes, including a lot more torque from the 2.7L I-4 L3B engine, which becomes the new base engine for the 2022 model year. Additionally models with the 3.0L I-6 LM2 turbo-diesel Duramax will be capable of towing more. The 4.3L V6 LV3 and 5.2L V8 L82 engines have been discontinued.

Going to have to side with all black on this one.
I agree, I also would go with the all black ones.
The all black with the blue paint in the pictures looks very nice.
all gm wheels are black now or mostly black, all there paint colors are dark to blend in with the cheap unfinished black wheel lip moldings, black bumper steps, black cab steps, black mirrors, black wall tires, cheap trucks , blown plastic interiors , cheap thin seats, it go’s on and on
False on all accounts.
1. All GM models are available with wheels that are finished in either silver or black. Black is almost always optional.
2. Cheap unfinished what now? There is a functional reason that these items are treated this way. Not only that, but GM is far from the only automaker that does this.
3. Black bumper steps / black cab steps? Do you recommend painting them in order to scratch them upon the first step? Honestly, what is the alternative here?
4. Black mirrors? You’re referring to mirror caps, not the mirrors… and you’re also wrong here. Most GM vehicles are offered with either body-color, black or (sometimes) chrome mirror caps.
5. Black wall tires? Don’t even know where to start on this one… do you want pink wall tires or white walls? We’re in the 22nd year of the 21st century, wake up and smell the coffee, and then take a look at the automobile trends.
6. Cheap trucks, interiors and seats? Judging by the first five things that you were completely wrong about, I can see how you most certainly know what you’re talking about as it relates to the topic of cheap.
I can do this all day, but you’re already six strikes in, so it’s not even worth it.
Do you even think before you talk, or do you just copy and paste this crap into every GM truck article you see? Bright blue displayed right before your eyes is clearly not a dark paint color. (FYI black and grey are popular with all manufactures) Black wheels are only standard on specific trims and what manufacturer uses white lettered tires in 2022? (unless your stuck in the 80’s nobody wants them) Refreshed interior looks on par with everyone else, seats can’t be judged until these are even available. Only thing I will give you is I wish they would have a painted flare option on upper trims and more interior color options. In case you were wondering your rinse and repeat blah blah is getting old. To everyone else I apologize for entertaining a troll.
Thought I hit reply but this is in response to mickey
Why isn’t the multi tailgate down????? Does it hit the hitch????? STUPID!!!!!!!!
TrukZ,
I use to like GM trucks, there all about cheap. Black only interior, black walnut interior. 85K trucks should have painted trim not unfinished cheap black plastic every were even Hyundai has painted trim. The painted bumpers chip all to hell. yes GM has 4 shades of gray for there trucks, even there green is black. take the name of denali or high country off the door or fender and it looks like a custom work truck. Ford and Ram both have white lettered tires, GM has Good for a year tires. look at all new gm trucks, the black is geared toward younger guys , yea Im little older but I like class , and I dont want the truck to look all wore ass out in a years time cause of cheap plastic. . GM has more recalls then even Ram now , my 2019 denali just got a recall on injectors , fake allison transmission, stupid door mount mirrors, tail gate hits hitch receiver, the interior is a blown plastic rattle trap with curved compartments thats good for nothing. the denali does ride nice but it should for 85K. the new trucks have a car dash in them, stupid console with a hole in the middle of it to charge a phone , and unless its tiny it dont fit to charge nothing. I own all 3 trucks, 2021 Ram 3500, 2022 Ford 350 king ranch, and a 2019 denali. the denali is cheap,, the Ram pulls, pulls, pulls all day long, the new 22 Ford is like sitting in a recliner , its fast and the new 12 x 9 inch screen is so cleap you can see a pebble laying on the ground. Ford and Ram has spent money on there trucks, GM is johnny come lately
You complain when things are not painted and then turn around and complain when they are. I have also spent time in all of the big 3 and Ford and Ram aren’t nearly as amazing as you suggest. The super duty in particular has a very cheap plastic fantastic interior. Loose fitting shiny trim pieces try to hide it but it’s still dominated by cheap plastics. By the way, the ’21 super duty I have spent the most time in is a grey platinum with a black interior lol. The power is nice but the engine has an annoying tick under loaded acceleration. It also squatted harder and rode worse than the Duramax at work with the same trailer. Fords are a more recent addition to the company so not time tested, only emissions problems so far. As for the Duramax vs Cummins we have had better service out the GM’s with mostly just emissions issues. The Rams have had turbo failures, transmission failures, and front end failures.
This is 2022 not the 60s anymore facts are everything is cheap I don’t care the manufacture nothing is made to last this is a throw away society and there is no turning back.
Truckz,
Let mew clarify , chrome bumpers look great the day you buy / sell the trucks, the painted crap chips, you know it too.
RAM 3500 with AISIN 1075 lb HO will yank the under powered 900 lb torque duramax down the street sideways. RAM has it going on when it comes to pulling and a engine brake that really works , your reference to bad transmission is Ram R68FE in the 2500 Ram which is junk after a 50K miles. you may be right on the fords interior in past but not currently. Its why your driving one. yup Ford did that crap with platinum & limited black color only, buyers were pissed and thats changed. people like your self may like black, but its hot and always dirty. my truck has no ticking noise ever. probably the wrong oil when oil change was complete because there is so many oil types., but like you said pulls good. and plenty of power. the duramax has been flawless as a every day driver motor, even thow mine has 4 open recalls , regen , engine block heater , injectors, and some other calibration needed. when you sit in that Ford its comfort. a GM seat is maybe 1 1/2″ thick, and after an hour its flat. The platinum your driving came with MICHELIN OWL tires, top of the line , over the black wall good for a years. My 2016 Ford had the squat , Ford fixed something because my F350 has that 3 stage leaf system, and rides great and no squat, Gm does not squat as much, right on. torshion bar front end make duramax ride good, then you get in and sit on a crap thin cheap seat, with tiny little knobs on the dash, how about the stupid looking massive door mounted mirrors, yea there dumb
And 3/4 of these will have 20″+ wheels put on them for the daily commute since they won’t see any off reading.
Neither, polished aluminum please. Not a fan of black wheels on anything
I would chose the two tone version.
GM Let me check the box for 6.2 L SUPERCHARGED engine you got my money if not I’ll keep my 21 TrailBoss 6.2L OR I may go to Dodge TRX 703 HP Comeon man !
