GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickups Are On The Way To Dealers

The new GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup is now rolling off the line and headed to dealers, as spotted in the following photos.

Jim Causley Buick GMC Truck in Township, Michigan recently caught two semi-trailers loaded up with three brand-new examples of the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup set and ready for delivery. In the photos, we see the electrified off-roaders lined up end-to-end on the trailers as the semis prepare to hit the road.

Every GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup is finished in Interstellar White paint, with a selection of black trim bits offsetting the bright white panels. Broad, horizontal lighting bits are stretched across the front end, while black tow hooks are located up front and in the rear.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup is also equipped with a set of two-tone 18-inch aluminum wheels, which are wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler off-roading tires, while between the wheels are running boards and lower black cladding. Up top is a black roof.

Making the go is a three-motor powertrain providing doling out 1,000 horsepower, sending the 2022 GMC Hummer EV to 60 mph in just three seconds, and providing upwards of 329 miles per charge. Under the skin is the GM BT1 platform.

Production of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup takes place at the GM Factory Zero facility in Michigan, previously known as Detroit-Hamtramck. The new Hummer EV is the first vehicle to be produced at Factory Zero. Some celebrities, including Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, already have an example of the new Hummer EV.

General Motors is ramping up its all-electric vehicle production, recently announcing a whopping $6.5 billion in EV investments for its production facilities in Michigan. In conjunction with the Factory Zero plant, the recent investment will boost GM’s full-size electric truck production to 600,000 units, as GM Authority covered previously.

  2. Awesome to see customer vehicles on their way to dealerships, as promised. I can’t wait for real-world feedback on range, efficiency, and charging speed!

I’m not sure it’s accurate to describe the Hummer EV as “electrified.” It’s not a converted internal combustion vehicle, but a purpose-built electric one. “In the photos, we see the electric off-roaders lined up…” would be correct, although the word “electric” seems redundant if you’ve already described it as the GMC Hummer EV.

    1. …they could’ve got 4x, with the right trailer set up at 10k lbs per vehicle. Spitball guess.

      1. Actually looks like 2 trucks, so 6x 2021. All kidding asid, I’m definitely interested to see some real owner experience with these trucks.

        1. Good eye on the background truck. I’m actually serious about the 4 per trailer. I’ve chatted with drivers taking 40k lb. flatbed loads. Have trailers built with movable ramps that back the 1st three on at an incline.
