General Motors will unveil the new Cadillac Escalade-V tomorrow, pulling the sheets on a high-performance variant of the iconic luxury SUV.
GM teased the Cadillac Escalade-V reveal with a short video. Clocking in at just 12 seconds, the teaser video is quite brief, but still effective, showing the upcoming Escalade-V among several other go-fast Caddy models, including the Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing, CT4-V, and CT4-V Blackwing.
Although the video doesn’t show much by way of details, we do see the headlights of the new Cadillac Escalade-V lit up, while the surface illuminated by the headlights shows copious tire rubber and skid marks, suggesting the go-fast Caddy models were enjoying some burnouts and donuts prior to the video shoot.
Earlier this month, GM Authority brought you video of the a Cadillac Escalade-V accelerating hard on public roads, giving us an earful of the SUV’s supercharged V8 soundtrack. In that earlier video, the Escalade-V goes wide open throttle, pushing the body back onto the rear suspension as the nose lifts towards the sky, a menacing growl emanating from the exhaust.
GM Authority was the first to break the news that General Motors was developing a new Cadillac Escalade-V model in July of 2019. At this point, we know that the Escalade-V will cradle the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which is the same powerplant found in models like the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, Chevy Camaro ZL1, and C7 Corvette Z06. Output varies among these vehicles, but the highest is in the CT5-V Blackwing, which is rated at 668 horsepower. GM Authority sources indicate that the Cadillac Escalade-V will have at least 640 horsepower.
A 10-speed automatic will be onboard to harness it all, while upgraded brakes and Magnetic Ride Control suspension with special tuning will keep it all shiny side up. Also expect unique exterior and interior styling to set it apart from the rest of the lineup.
Stay tuned as we cover everything there’s to know about the new Cadillac Escalade-V, and make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Escalade news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

Big, fast box…luv it..
Now that more than half the entire Cadillac lineup is wearing the “V” badge, can Cadillac now also (as in at the same time) concentrate on offering higher luxury (as in more quiet and better riding/road isolation) for those of us who don’t want the sports car?
Yeah it’s called EVs, and the Celestiq.
Nebula: I should have also stated for those of us who don’t want an SUV. I’m not against them and have owned numerous of them. But I’m just not wanting an SUV/CUV at this time of my life. I truly wish Cadillac was offering a CT4/CT5 with the PHEV or in all electric now.
The Celestiq isn’t a CUV or an SUV, it’s a Sedan. Though one worth a pretty penny.
Celestiq, yes. But it’s not out yet nor will I be able to afford one. Even if I could, I’m certainly not vain enough to spend that much money on a car. The only reason I have a Volvo S60 now is because my lease payment is dirt cheap. The Cadillac CT4 I had before the S60 was a tremendous bargain. So as you can see, I don’t buy cars to impress anyone else and I certainly don’t want people looking at me based on what I drive. I would like my next new vehicle to be a modest all electric Chevy or Buick or smaller Cadillac, but it could just as easily be another Chevy Spark for all I care. They all take me to/from work and haul kids.
Over engineered lifters and transmissions would be nice as well.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like!!!
12 second video, eh? Smells of an Easter egg that’s hinting at a 1/4-mile time…
Probably still using the same sh*t tier lifters. Yeah I said it.
I would love for GM to exceed my expectations and drop in the LT5, but I’m happy to see the Escalade finally get the V treatment.
Take this, New Green Deal!
No, that would be a RCSB Silverado SS with the LT5😉…
It’s the green new deal, dummy
About time. Cadillac loves leaving money on the table. Too bad they never offered a V version of the XT4. That small ute is begging for a power bump.
Never gonna happen. GM installs as many small 4 cylinders in as many products as possible because it allows them to produce smaller volume, high price/ high profit things like Blackwings and Escalade V’s…..
…..and Tahoes and Suburbans….
When I bought my pre-owned Cadillac XT5 last year I was told that by 2025 all the Cadillac models would be electric. I don’t know if I would buy another gas powered vehicle now given the EV trend that has emerged. It might be hard to trade in a V-Series Escalade or sell it privately. I see more and more EVs on the road every day. Here in Ontario Canada where I live the cost of hydro is the highest in North America (as per articles I have read). I don’t know if I could afford to plug in an EV at my home. You can buy a lot of gas for the cost of hydro! But our Federal Government has placed another Tax on gas. Caught between a rock and a hard place? I filled up my 2009 CTS-V yesterday at $1.64 per litre. And there are 4.5 litres of gas to an Imperial gallon. Do the math.
Hey CVT, here in Massachusetts we were supposed to get your expensive hydro power for our future EV needs. The voters in Maine want to protect their environment so they stopped the project in November. All new vehicles sold here in MA starting 2035 must be electric. Why can’t we be given vehicle choices instead of mandates?
Nice to hear back from you Gary. There is no question that we are facing climate change. But the ‘root cause’ in my opinion is unknown. Everyone seems to blame it on CO2 emissions. We’ve had 3 ice ages on this planet apparently; long before there were vehicles and heavy industry. Personally, I do not think CO2 is to blame. I think the pursuit of e-vehicles is like chasing a red herring. All of our greenhouse vegetable growers here in Canada use CO2 generators to help with the indoor growth of tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers…etc. Are we going to turn these all off? Not likely. If the price of gas goes through the roof and hydro rates go down dramatically, I might think of an e-vehicle. But with the stated direction of Cadillac to have all their models electrified by 2025 our choices will become limited. I have 7 vehicles (5 summer only) and only 1 takes regular fuel. Is it time to sell these old collectibles? I’d appreciate your opinion.
V but not Blackwing?
Will be a big hit ( no pun intended ) with Gangbangers and City wittys.
