GM To Open 2023 Corvette Order Banks In March

The 2023 Corvette introduces the fourth model year for the latest mid-engine Chevy Corvette C8, introducing the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06, as well as a few minor changes for the 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray. Now, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter that the 2023 Corvette order guide will go live on March 21st, with 2023 Corvette order banks opening March 24th.

In addition to opening 2023 Corvette order banks on March 24th, General Motors will also launch the 2023 Corvette online configurator the same day. The first order cycle (Dealer Order Submission Process, or DOSP) will take place on March 31st.

Note that all of these dates apply to both the 2023 Corvette Stingray and the 2023 Corvette Z06. What’s more, these dates line up with the March reveal date for the 2023 Corvette Z06 pricing, as reported by GM Authority previously.

That said, all of these dates are subject to change with consideration to the current highly volatile operating environment, as demonstrated with the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500.

GM Authority has also exclusively reported that General Motors is now launching a new Corvette order tracking program that will allow customers to keep tabs on where their vehicle is in terms of the order, production, and delivery process, thus providing additional clarity and transparency.

Per additional exclusive GM Authority coverage, the 2023 Corvette Z06 will launch using the Average Day Supply (ADS) allocation model, with no separate allocation group from the C8 Stingray. For those readers who may not know, the ADS model determines a dealer’s vehicle allocation based on the number of days it takes the dealer to sell the vehicle in question, rather than historic sales volume.

As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, while the 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. Both vehicles are based on the GM Y2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Bowling Green facility in Kentucky.

  1. I’m a happy 2019 Colorado Midnight Edition owner as well as two Corvettes. I’m always interested in the articles on Chevy Vehicles. I like to be informed of the new mid-engine Vette and hope to be on the order list soon!

    1. If you’re not on a dealership’s waiting list, you may be waiting a few years…..

  2. Are they referring to the “new” order tracking that doesn’t work or coming up with another one? I sure hope it includes all orders that are waiting and not just new orders! Tomg

    1. It only applies once your order reaches pre-production status. Then you will receive a series of email updates as it moves along. If it’s a preliminary order still waiting for allocation, you won’t receive anything.

    2. Hope it has more up to date info than the concierge. When my 2021 was in production the concierge’s info was always a week or so behind what my dealer was able to provide.

    3. Ask your dealer for your Order Number and the Status Number. Anything less than Status 3000, has not been “Accepted by Production Control”…. and like others have said a Preliminary Order, which really means nothing.

  3. I have a 2022 ordered last yr. as soon as orders were taken, Does that mean I will get a new style car, or should I order a new 2023 to have a new car and not a yr.. old car ?

    1. Did your dealer give you your order number?
If you have an order number for a 2022 that is what you will get and you can track it directly
by calling the concierge. The status number of your order helps determine where it is.
I placed a 2020 order, and had to place a new order for a 2021, it did not carry over automatically.
So if 2022 production stops, and your car is not delivered, you will have to place a new order for a 2021.
But you should not be at the back of the line, you should be at the front of the line, as if nothing happened.
Do call on your dealer to provide to you the order number from GM. They should do this.

      1. When will you get an order number from your dealership? Do you get it before GM accepts your offer or do you get a number the moment your dealership takes your money to get on the list?

        1. Dealers get an order # the minute they enter the order in GM’s system.

    2. Hubby ordered his 2020 C8 and it came in eleven months later and was indeed a 2021! I lucked out. I ordered mine just prior to his delivery, July 17th to be exact. Mine was built October 11th and I picked up at the museum on the 26th! It clearly depends on when the model year breaks.

  6. At what point does the dealer try to tack on an ADM? I’m #4 on my dealer’s list for Z06 and I’ve never gone through the process of ordering a corvette or any other car. Usually buy used or a private deal.
