GM Sales Notes
Total GM sales during 2021 decreased 13 percent to 2,218,223 units
GM’s strong mix of truck and SUV sales and lower incentives helped deliver average transaction prices (ATP) of about $45,000, according to J.D. Power PIN estimates.
GM grew share of all three fleet segments. Total fleet share increased nearly 2 percentage points compared to the 2020 calendar year, posting healthy growth for the third year in a row.
GM’s sales incentives were down 41 percent to about 7.2 percent of ATP.
Full-Size Truck Pickup Sales Lead
With 768,689 full-size pickup truck deliveries, GM sold more full-size trucks in 2021 than its rivals as a result of a lower sales drop rate. GM Full-Size Truck Sales - United States - 2021 Calendar Year
GM expects the broader U.S. economic recovery to continue in 2022.
“In 2022, we plan to take advantage of the strong economy and anticipated improved semiconductor supplies to grow our sales and share,” said GM Executive Vice President and President at GM North America, Steve Carlisle, in a statement. “We will also further strengthen our industry leadership in trucks and begin our drive to EV leadership in North America with the rollouts of the GMC HUMMER EV, Cadillac LYRIQ and the reveals of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV,” he added.
You really dont know where chips come from do you! If you simply look to good old VT state you will know they can’t make enough there. Even Ford showed up there last year! When companies cancel their orders and others step in like cell phone companies and IOThings….you can’t just reactivate your orders!
Comments
Can’t sell anything when we have to beg for chips from China. I sure hope they get the new Ohio plant built sooner then 2025
