The 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition has been officially unveiled by General Motors after images of the new limited-run model variant leaked online last week.
As the name suggests, the 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition marks the 70th birthday of the iconic Chevy sports car – which just so happens to be the longest-running vehicle nameplate still in production today. “Even after 70 years, Corvette still makes hearts race and kids dream of the open road,” Chevy marketing director Steve Majoros says of the storied American two-door.
The 70th Anniversary Edition package for the 2023 Corvette Z06 will be offered on both Coupe and Convertible models in the range-topping 3LZ trim level only. Customers will be able to choose from two unique exterior colors, White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat with optional Satin Gray stripes and Carbon Flash Metallic with optional Satin Black stripes. Inside, drivers will be greeted by two-tone Ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats, contrasting red stitching and seatbelts, sueded microfiber seat inserts and suede steering wheel.
Other equipment in the package includes 70th Anniversary Edition exterior badging, Edge Red painted brake calipers, an Edge Red engine cover, a unique rear bumper protector/trunk cover, a custom luggage set with 70th Anniversary Edition logos and 70th Anniversary Edition logos on the seat headrests, steering wheel and sill plates.
Additionally, all 2023 Corvette models, including those not equipped with the 70th Anniversary Edition package, will feature a special commemorative 70th anniversary interior plaque located on the center speaker grille, along with a graphic imprinted on the lower rear window, to mark the vehicle’s 70th birthday.
Lastly, Chevy announced this week that the first-ever retail production 2023 Corvette Z06 will be a 70th Anniversary Edition model. Tagged with VIN 001, this vehicle will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale sale on January 29th, 2022, with all proceeds from the auction benefitting a non-profit called Operation Homefront, which helps military families establish more successful, stable lives in their communities.
“Passion for Corvette runs deep at Chevrolet and this anniversary is extra special because of the excitement and sales success we’ve achieved with the eighth generation of America’s iconic sportscar,” Majoros added.
Production of the 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition will commence later this year at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky. For now, interested customers can use Chevy’s web-based 3D visualizer tool to create their own 70th Anniversary Edition Vette.

YES!!!! This thing looks awesome! I’ll get one, if I win the lottery…
I hear you same here. But no good in snow and back roads up north.
Yeah, but people buy fancy stuff like this when they have a lot of money and also have a daily driver SUV or truck to get them through that snow.
I have put my name on a list for the 2023 Z06. I was notified several weeks ago by the dealership that they will be charging a dealer up charge. I read the article and the letter sent by GM warning dealerships not to do at the risk of loosing their allotment of the corvettes. Is it realistic to believe the dealerships will abide by GMs warning.
Rich, the letter will do little to curb the upcharge. If you can get your dealer to put a clause in the contract agreeing to MSRP you’ll be protected.
You are, in one way, very lucky because I can’t find a dealer to put me on the list.
What is the dealers name?
Suburban since 1935. Longest running nameplate?
I though about this too…
How much will it cost though???
Yeah I think the Suburban beat it by about 18 years. Didn’t they do a 75 anniversary Suburban a few years back?
I just researched this and apparently there was a 2010 Chevy Suburban 75th Anniversary Diamond Edition.
Yeah, OK, I’m a sucker for it but not until we pricing and performance specs….
We need a 70th edition before we even get the aforementioned C8 Z06??
I guess it’s all about the Benjamins for a model they can’t produce enough of.
I am not rich. But was able to fit a C8 in my life, and very grateful. I feel lucky. But it seems like most people I know have enourmous amounts of money and can have whatever they see. I am sure these 3LZ anniverseries will show up here , makes me a little jealous.
Maybe I will try the lottery, who knows. Working hard and being honest have not paid off.
Could never fault anyone who does an honest day’s work.
I like the badges for 70th
Nice looking edition. Unfortunately, given the already long wait time for any C8, much less a Z06 or this 70th Edition – they’re going to be near impossible to get.
