Corsa Performance Introduces Chevy Camaro ZL1 Carbon Fiber Air Intake: Video

Ohio-based aftermarket exhaust manufacturer Corsa Performance has released a video highlighting its new carbon fiber intake for the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro ZL1.

This new carbon fiber intake from Corsa Performance is compatible with the 2017 to 2022 model year Chevy Camaro ZL1 and boosts output of the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine by exactly 19.28 horsepower and 28.36 pound-feet of torque without a tune, as per the company’s own dyno test results. The factory output of the Camaro ZL1, as a reminder, is rated at 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

This power boost comes from a 25 percent increase in airflow, which is enabled by a larger conical intake filter and optimized intake duct shape.

“Compared to stock the optimized shape of the Corsa Performance air intake duct, combined with high-performance filtration, increases overall performance and fuel economy,” the company says. “Dyno tuned for maximum results, the Corsa Performance Camaro ZL1 Carbon Fiber Air Intake produces up to an additional 19 horsepower and 28 pound-feet of torque from the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine without a tune.”

Corsa also says the carbon fiber construction of the intake reduces the chance the 6.2L LT4 V8 engine will experience heat soak under hard driving in hot weather conditions. As an added bonus, the carbon look will also improve the appearance of the Chevy Camaro ZL1’s engine bay – although we suppose that depends on whether or not the Camaro owner in question likes the motorsports-inspired appearance of the ultra lightweight material.

The aforementioned video highlighting this new carbon intake shows a Corsa technician quickly and easily installing the carbon intake on a Torch Red Chevy Camaro ZL1. Check out it out below and click here to learn a bit more about this new product via Corsa’s website.

  1. Although I am a loyal buyer of Vararam intakes, Corsa is a rock solid manufacturer and this CF unit looks fantastic. On top of that, the price is very generous. Nice #’s too. Its right on par with other CAI’s for boosted GM engines.
