Chevrolet Chile Sales Down 23 Percent In December 2021

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 23 percent to 2,715 units in December 2021. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s fourth-best-selling automobile brand during the month.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

During the 2021 calendar year, Chevrolet Chile sales increased 42 percent to 38,657 units.

The GM Authority Take

For the third consecutive month, Chevrolet Chile sales suffered a notable double-digit decrease in December 2021, deepening the negative performance that Chevrolet experienced in October and November as a result of lower availability of its most popular vehicles. The performance has caused Chevy to drop from second to fourth place among the best-selling brands in Chile. Even so, Chevy managed to take the title of best-selling automobile brand in the South American country throughout the 2021 calendar year.

Chevy Sail

In contrast to the previous month, the Chevy Sail significantly increased its sales volume month-over-month, becoming Chevrolet’s best-selling model in December despite a year-over-year decline. For its part, the new Chevy Groove didn’t have a great month, posting one of the lowest records of the 2021 calendar year as a result of sub-par inventory levels. Even so, it was able to finish the 2021 calendar year as Chevy’s most popular nameplate in Chile.

The only model that posted an increase in sales on a year-over-year basis was the Chevy N400, posting an impressive monthly increase of 56 percent along with an annual jump of 233 percent, making it one of the fastest-growing vehicles for sale in Chile. .
