The 2022 GMC Sierra HD is the third model year for the fourth-generation heavy duty pickup, arriving with a few small updates and changes over the preceding 2021 model year. Notably, the 2022 GMC Sierra HD recently received a $500 price increase across all trim levels.
The $500 price increase applies to both 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD models and 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD models. Interestingly, the latest price increase is the second since the 2022-model-year vehicles went on sale in August of the 2021 calendar year. The first price increase was put in place November 10th, 2021, and was also a flat $500 up-charge across the board.
Currently, the most expensive 2022 GMC Sierra HD model in the lineup is the Sierra 3500HD Denali Crew Cab Long Bed DRW, priced at $80,545. The least expensive model in the lineup is the Sierra 2500HD Sierra / Pro Regular Cab Long Bed, priced at $38,895. Note that all prices include both the MSRP and a destination freight charge of $1,695.

As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali HD is available with two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T, which is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which is rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Production takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan.
Updates for the 2022 model year include the deletion of two exterior colors, namely Brownstone Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic, plus the addition of Forest Metallic. The 2022 model year also introduces new 20-inch machined face aluminum wheels with high gloss Black accents and beadlock appearance (RPO code SQ9).

That black grill on that paint color is fugly.
all gm trucks are ugly anymore, all dark color paints , black interior , or you can pick the same black walnut which is BLACK,
black wall tires, no two tone paint, unfinished black wheel lip moldings, mirrors stupidly mounted to doors, cheap bed steps, cheap running boards , thin cheap seats , take the denali or high country decal off door and you have a custom work truck.
A $500 price increse makes the small window sticker credits for missing content (heated seats/wheel, parking assist, etc.) an even bigger joke now. Quickly loosing patience on my 5 month old HD order and now another price increase? Funny, ordered a loaded ’22 Outback XT and that showed in 2 months with no missing parts. Why is GM the only one actively complaining about chips still? Ford at least made an effort last November by entering into a contract with a new semiconductor company. Who cares about offering free “dealer retrofit” for the missing content after the fact because the back-up alone in GM service bays will be a total nightmare once those are available let alone the down time of an owners vehicle. And you can pretty much count on no free loaner cars being made available either….. major ball drop here GM!
