2022 GMC Canyon Loses These Two Paint Colors

The 2022 GMC Canyon is the eighth model year of the second-generation vehicle, introducing a few small changes and updates over the previous 2021 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 GMC Canyon is no longer available to be ordered with two specific exterior paint colors.
The two paint colors in question are Hunter Metallic, paint code GED, and Cayenne Red Tintcoat, paint code GSK. Cayenne Red Tintcoat was an extra $645, and was offered on 2022 GMC Canyon Elevation, AT4 and Denali trim levels, but not the Canyon Elevation Standard. Meanwhile, Hunter Metallic cost an extra $495 and was only available on the Denali trim level.
The 2022 GMC Canyon follows a light update introduced for the 2021 model year, with the former ushering in only small changes and updates, such as the addition of all-weather floor liners and the new Denali Black Edition Package exclusively for the Denali trim level. Additionally, wireless phone charging is now an available option for Denali trims, rather than standard equipment, while AT4 trims in the Crew Cab / Short Box body style are now equipped with a standard 17-inch by 8-inch gloss-Black aluminum spare wheel.
As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Canyon offers the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 181 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. The Canyon was also previously offered with the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, but, as GM Authority covered previously, the 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine is no longer available to order with the 2022 GMC Canyon.
Under the skin, the GMC Canyon rides on the GMT 31XX platform. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri.

big if true
What shade of black will replace theze colors?
They are ramping the entire line down as the new truck will be in production with in months.
GM needs more exciting colors and although myself don’t care much for the Cayenne. It’s one of the better colors on the Canyon, Colorado twins. Unfortunately, they have the same issue with the full-size trucks, but don’t understand that it is just one of the reasons FORD outsells both GM models put together.
They need to bring back the bright red which was the best red. That’s my opinion and that’s all I care about and i have owned 10 of those bright red trucks and always got a lot of compliments! They didn’t offer the bright red on my full-size Silverado that I got six months ago and it’s a nice looking truck in black but I still don’t get all the compliments that I used to get when I have the red trucks before that
Anyone know why Cayenne Red Tintcoat has been canceled?? I am surprised as I have a 2021 Canyon AT4 with that color and I have received MANY complements on how nice the color is.
I am curious how anyone can give this post a thumbs down??? The first sentence is a question, and the second sentence is a statement of fact NOT an opinion. To the thumbs downers please tell me WHY!!!
Yep, the “thumb downers” are trolls…that is what I thought!!! They do NOT have enough professionalism and facts to answer WHY they gave my original post a thumbs down.
The GMC Yukon just received a new Redwood Metallic paint color for this year, it’s possible that it may find it’s way towards the 2023 Canyon as a replacement for the Cayenne Red Tintcoat Color, we’ll know soon enough if that’s the case.
It seems like ever time GM or in this case, GMC gets it right, they change things. I have a 2021 with the Cayenne Red Tintcoat and I love it. I’m constantly getting comments from others on the color. My 2019 Silverado with Oakwood Metallic gone in 6 months and 2013 Avalanche Fairway Green, never to be seen again. Keep dumping the great colors for lower cost options. The competition is loving it.
I have a 2019 Canyon Diesel Cayenne Red love the color, and the pickup. Have also had a lot of compliments on the color.
thanks do you know the color code for your Cayenne Red truck?
I just took delivery of a 22 Canyon Denali in Cayenne red.
I’m finally able to justify a truck in my life. I plan on getting a Denali canyon later this year and will hold off for the 2023 model with the hopefully turbo four rumor being true. I’m also hoping there is still some sort of green option. Us green fans need more love. 2023 turbo four Denali canyon awd in hunter metallic or similar and I’m all over it.
