Chevy’s 2022 Corvette offers a total of 12 exterior colors, three of which are new: Amplify Orange Tintcoat, Caffeine Metallic, and Hypersonic Gray Metallic. These new colors replace Sebring Orange Tintcoat, Zeus Bronze Metallic, and Shadow Gray Metallic, respectively. Here’s our first look at the new Hypersonic Gray hue, as seen on the 2022 C8 Stingray.
Assigned RPO code GA7 and touch-up paint code WA-623G, Hypersonic Gray Metallic is one of five neutral hues available for the 2022 Corvette, along with Arctic White, Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic, Black, and Silver Flare Metallic. Hypersonic Gray is one of three gray exterior paint options. It is also one of six metallic hues.

The new Hypersonic Gray Metallic color is included in the base price of the 2022 Corvette. The color is available with all interior color combinations and all trim levels.

Production of the 2022 Corvette began at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant in early September 2021. Recently, the facility was running at a lower capacity than usual during the first week of November due to a parts shortage. That said, availability of 2022 models at the dealer level is scarce, a circumstance that will likely continue until supply catches up with demand. As early as June 2021, demand for the Corvette C8 has outpaced supply by a substantial margin.
