The 2022 Chevy Traverse offers three new exterior colors: Northsky Blue Metallic, Cherry Red Tintcoat, and Silver Sage Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Silver Sage Metallic hue.
Assigned RPO code G6N and touch-up paint code WA-619G, Silver Sage Metallic is one of eight exterior colors available on the 2022 Chevy Traverse:
- Black Cherry Metallic
- Cherry Red Tintcoat
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Mosaic Black Metallic
- Northsky Blue Metallic
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Silver Sage Metallic
- Summit White
There is no extra charge for Silver Sage Metallic, meaning that the color is included in the cost of the vehicle. The new color is available on LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, and High Country, but not available on LS and Premier trim levels. It can be combined with Jet Black and Jet Black/Chai interior colorways.
Here are all available 2022 Chevy Traverse interior colors:
- Jet Black
- Jet Black with Chai
- Jet Black with Clove
- Jet Black with Maple Sugar
- Jet Black with Spice Red
As a reminder, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse receives a refresh (otherwise known as an update, mid-cycle enhancement, or MCE) consisting of updated exterior styling and a handful of updates to the interior.
On the outside, the refreshed Traverse gets a new front fascia with set of new, then LED daytime running lights (DRLs), followed by an equally-new set of LED headlights located below the new DRLs, new taillights, and new alloy wheel options, along with the three new colors we mentioned above.
Inside, the updated Traverse gets a few mild updates, including the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other changes include the addition of an Automatic Start/Stop disable switch and Safety Alert Seat, along with a new standard Chevy Safety Assist package that brings more standard active safety tech to the vehicle.
As was the case starting with the 2018 model year, the 2022 Traverse is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, which produces 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive as standard or all-wheel drive as an option.
GM originally intended to launch the updated (mid-cycle enhancement / MCE) Chevy Traverse for the 2021 model year, but its arrival was delayed by factors associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Traverse rides on top of the long wheelbase-variant of the GM C1 platform and is built at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. Production of the 2022 Chevy Traverse resumed on October 25th after being delayed due to the ongoing global semiconductor microchip shortage that is expected to remain well into 2022.

So what is the reason that the only interior option on a High Country is Black? I dont understand whyJet Black/Maple Sugar could not be an option. Pure Black interior in the Southwest is a deal breaker.
I was recently looking through a 65 Buick catalog……interiors: white, black, red, blue, green, saddldle and more….there was even an interior/exterior color match recommendation chart, not to mention multiple two-tone exterior choices. Mind boggling. Did they take all the fun choosing from us for cost efficiency? I want it back.
When is the 2022 traverse hybrid be available at all dealerships
really liked the Satin Steel color but of course, GM gets rid of it.
