GM Authority extensively outlined the changes and updates to the 2022 Tahoe. Noteworthy updates over the 2021 model include the introduction of Front and Rear Park Assist and Buckle To Drive as standard on all models. There’s also expanded availability of the 6.2L L87 V8 gasoline EcoTec3 engine, which is now available on RST and Z71 models via the addition of the new Sport Performance Package and Off-Road Performance Package.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is assembled by GM USA at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas. Both the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban went into production on October 4th of this year, as previously reported exclusively by GM Authority. The two Chevy models, along with their GMC (Yukon / Yukon XL) and Cadillac (Escalade / Escalade ESV) platform mates are the only models whose production GM didn’t idle during the ongoing microchip shortage. The automaker did so by allocating chips from other vehicle lines to the full-size SUVs.

  2. When will the American manufacturers realize that their “50 Shades of Gray” plan is not necessarily what the public wants? A friend mentioned that “most vehicles sold are some shade of gray, so they must be popular”. I replied that most vehicles are gray because that is the only thing available to choose from. If the public was actually given a choice, they just might want something bright and cheery, instead of dark and dull.

    1. I don’t know what the public wants, but didn’t California try to make dark colored cars illegal, for environmental climate change reasons?

      1. The idea was suggested by the CA Air Resources Board (CARB) a decade ago as a way to reduce air conditioning needs in darker cars. It was shelved long ago after an economic study found that it didn’t really save as much in fuel costs as would be required to advance it.
