Chevrolet Express Pricing
For reference, here are the 2022 Chevy Express trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, destination freight charge included:
- Passenger:
- LS – $38,495
- LT – $40,595
- Cargo:
- Work Van – $34,295
The 2022 Chevrolet Express represents the 19th model year of the nameplate. Both the passenger and cargo vans ride on the GM GMT 610 platform, and offer identical powertrain options, which include the 4.3L LV1 V6, 6.0L L96 Vortec V8, 6.0L LC8 Vortec V8, and Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8L LWN I4 engines. Notably, both 6.0-liter eight-cylinder engine options have been deleted for the 2021 model year, and replaced by the 6.6-liter L8T V8 engine, along with other minor changes and updates.
While it is currently unclear when or if a next-generation Express will reach the market, we do know that the current model will continue to be sold through the 2023 calendar year. GM has provisions to extend production through 2025, if it deems necessary. Each model year will likely include minor changes, updates, and improvements, which has been the case since the inception of the current models.
In the meantime, several all-new battery-electric models are on the way to replace the two models. First will be the BrightDrop EV600 and BrightDrop EV410. These will be followed with a future electric Chevy commercial van, whose name has yet to be revealed.

It is more like 26 years for the Express nameplate! I bought my 1996 Express in Sept 96, (should have been a 1997 model except for gov regs) — I have purchased new chev vans since 1972. Really mad that GM promotes Express vans, offers $3000 discount last Sept on the “build” site when they are not even producing them or taking orders. Like other carmakers these days…that is bait and switch. I have been trying to order one since last summer. My dealer here says I probably have to wait 12 months before they can even order an Express. But no problem producing $80,000 Suburbans or Silverados! I am looking hard at alternatives. (only four color choices and not one is appealing)
Hey GM Authority, how about finding out the real skinny on what’s going on with the Wentzville plant. Are they or are they not producing 2022 vans. This article has been run before. Shouldn’t be that difficult for you to find out. I heard that the run the line building Canyons and Colorados, then the run the line building Express and Savanas. Then I heard that the run both lines together. Help me out here. When can we expect to see some new vans? That new heavy duty 6.6 gas V8 should really be a sweet ride. Please let us know when we can expect to see them.
