GMC Hummer EV Pickup With Accessory Red Lettering: Live Photos

The GMC Hummer EV isn’t your typical off-roader, resurrecting the legendary Hummer nameplate as an all-new, all-electric trail-ready machine replete with cutting-edge techno wizardry. Critically, the new Hummer EV can be had with a number of optional upgrades and accessories, including red lettering, as seen in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

As seen in the following photos provided by a GM Authority reader, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup pictured below is equipped with bright red badging front to back, providing an attractive offset to the stark white-and-black color scheme. The new red lettering is part of the off-roader’s range of Alternate Finish Badges, which replace the standard silver badges with either Red, Black, or Tech Bronze substitutes, as GM Authority covered previously.

Set against the white paint, these badges really shine, showing off the bright “H” while the chunky lines of the pickup body style keep it simple in black and white. The red badging can be seen in the door, while 18-inch two-tone wheels wrapped in 35-inch rubber are mounted in the corners. Up top, we spot a black roof treatment.

The new red badging is also located in the rear of the vehicle, where we see large Hummer script set on top of the tailgate. Below the tailgate is a pair of tow hooks in black, housed by a black bumper.

As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV is offered with several different powertrain options, including a range-topping three-motor arrangement doling out 1,000 horsepower on the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1. The GMC Hummer EV is also offered with a two-motor setup, and an SUV body style.

Under those burly body panels, the GMC Hummer EV rides on the all-electric GM BT1 platform, sourcing motivation from General Motors’ Ultium Battery and Ultium Drive technologies. Production is under way now at the recently reopened GM Factory Zero plant, formerly known as GM Detroit-Hamtramck.

  1. While I can see the technology is pretty amazing in the new Hummer, I can also see such an expensive “Toy” surely is going to have it’s limitations too. This thing is a real “Chunky Money”…holy crap, Batman, 9000 pounds of “fighting weight” (sic) is just downright crazy, and although with all of the “bells and whistles” attached to the MSRP on the window sticker” will show probably well over 100 Grand, and the acceleration factor is very impressive…as Motor Trend Magazine showed in it’s “Truck of The Year” article, where is lost to the Rivian Pick Up…the cost of this “Beast” is too high and the interior trim level is too low” (imagine that, a GM product with a less than stellar interior offering in one of it’s vehicles) for the money that you’d be paying out here!

Certainly a “force to be reckoned with” in some off road situations, I can see a real limited usage here and a limited sales of the truck version…with the SUV version selling way more than the truck version. Do the math…if your going to be paying the big bucks for one of these, you might as well go first class and that is exactly what will happen with the new Hummer, the very well to do will be buying one of these and it’ll be seen more on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills (Ca.) than out in the desert or mountain roads across America. Oh and one more thing…the sales of these things will hit a peak rather quickly and level off, just like the original Hummer series of years ago. Then what’ll GM do to spur sales of these monster toys?
Just say’n…I’d personally think about buying one of these (in SUV guise) if they could update the interior to at least one that is respectable and competitive with others in this class, if they could keep the dealers from “banging the public” into paying well over MSRP! A lofty request…and one that I don’t see GM becoming interested in doing anything about.
We’ll see…in the meantime, I’m waiting for the first new Hummer to show here in SoCal at one of our many Cars & Coffee events, it won’t take long I’m sure. Like the new C8 when it hit the “Show Off Scene”, attracting large crowds of gawkers, the C&C and Sunday Super Car events will have these things arriving on scene in decent numbers (at first) the all of the
“newness” will fade quickly and it’ll just be another “show up-show off” toy. Oh well, I can hardly wait for this to happen!

    1. Can you specify exactly where the interior is lacking? What is missing or inadequate?

  2. Looks fun, but definitely for a specific client. Too rich for my blood unless I can get a business write off. I’m waiting for a more practical vehicle that has interior cargo space for business use and range for personal use. I’d like to travel to the outdoors but not necessarily tear up the wilderness. Not seeing either possibility in the Hummers.

  3. Perfect for the Hummer buyer worried about disappearing in the crowd.

  4. Love Hummers – all kinds but at $112K I’ll get one if I hit lotto. In the meantime I’ll keep my H3 Alpha which cost about $40K when new. Time to become realistic GM if you want to sell these in sizable numbers.

    1. I forgot that other Hummers could outrun a Ferrari…

      1. I forgot that out running a Ferrari was a selling point for the hummer thanks for the reminder. I’m sure people can’t wait to take this thing out on the interstate and go full speed.

  5. GM is becoming vertically integrated for its EV technology. But it is not quite there yet. So, for the retail market, it makes sense, to start with s high margin, low volume vehicles. Later, in 2022 we get the Lyriq; followed by the EV pickups in 2023. However, in the near future, partnerships, supply agreements or totally owned GM factories will supply everything from rare earth minerals for the magnets to making castings for the EV Silverado. This EV vertical integration will allow them to come out with EVs in higher volume that are competitive to their gas versions. GM has promised 30 new EVs globally by 2025; 20 of these will be for North America. Let’s see what happens.

    1. Yes that’s what Tesla did in the beginning put out the roadster then S and X. Helped pave the way for the 3 and Y. I do like my Bolt but would like to replace the company small cargo vehicle. Liking the electric Canoo or commercial VW van. GM Brightdrop vans are still a big large. Maybe the smaller of the two would be okay.

      1. If anything, gm should adapt a consumerized version of Brightdrop to replace the Savanna and Express dinosaurs. That would be rare and unimpeachable business savvy from the trailblazer in rebadging.

        1. Remember Idiot Boy, the Savanna and Express “Dinosaurs” are
the base chassis used for their C-Class motorhomes.

  6. When are the high performance EVs going to be hit with the “guzzler” tax? Having to pay this tax on my ICE cars it should be applied to the unnecessary high powered electrics since they will be consuming more electricity to charge.

    1. What if the EV owners charge off their own solar and battery power?
