Here we go again, try finding one.
Exactly!
GM: “We are offering rebates and special financing!!”
Customer: “Great! Do you have any in stock?”
GM: “Haven’t you heard?? There is a “chip shortage” and inventory is limited.”
Customer: “Why are you offering incentives if there are very few available?”
GM: “We appreciate you and want your business!”
Customer: “But…nevermind….”
It’s not all about in stock units.
Another thing is when a customer has been waiting for a unit and will be able to take advantage of the incentives in question.
You mentioned the “chip” shortage. A story surfaced that it’s not so much a chip shortage, but the auto industries failure to upgrade their “wiring harness” for the sake of a better term to work with the newer chip designs. If that’s the case, this is on them.
Constantly having every vehicle recalled over lousy engineering techniques. I can’t believe some of the trolls on here still defend gm
A vehicle search shows 25 within 2000 miles and 1 within 500 miles and then they would have to be something I’d like. 138 2021’s
And if you find one, the foolish dealer will tack on some bogus *Millennium Plan, *Protection Plan, and the bell ringer … *National Vehicle Shortage Fee … in NC those three usually add up to about $4,200.00. I was looking for a mini van, found one and the above was wrote on a bogus card as if they were legit charges. I told the dealer to forget it, and not only would I remember this and never set foot on his Ford dealership again, but so will everyone else since you’ve had this van on the lot for over 5 weeks. Some had $3000 “shortage” fees, very popular models like the Mustang and the Maverick … $5,000 !
Well if there’s not many vehicles available you’d better not wait. Sign of the times.
Really, sign of the times. if you look after your vehicle you won’t need to replace it as often as most do. I drive a 9 year old Ford C-Max, it’s good for at least 6 more years as it’s had it’s routine maintenance done. I know there are some whose vehicle has died or got wrecked and I feel for them, but most can wait an should to make the dealer stop. Dealers whose been “scamming” customers will pay the price, and as one whose been affiliated in this industry for over 25 years … that Ford dealer will pay the price in the long run. And the customer who bought an paid upwards of $5K over retail … KBB could care less if you paid $5K over retail, 3 to 5 year old trade in values WILL NOT reflect what you paid. Your trade in value is based on MSRP, not w/dealer add-ons. Then there’s insurance rates, the more expensive, the higher your rates. That $5K extra can cost you about $50 to $100 a year more to insure.
