The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Brazil sales declined in November at a much less pronounced rate compared to previous months, when the Bow Tie brand suffered major setbacks in the South American country. Despite being Chevrolet’s sixth consecutive sales decline in the Brazilian market, the result represents a significant improvement over prior months so far this year.

In fact, the 28,430 Chevys delivered during November 2021 in Brazil represent the best monthly figure so far this year, enabling the brand to climb to second place among Brazil’s best-selling auto brands.

As usual, the Chevrolet Brazil sales performance in November is directly related to the results posted by the Chevy Onix, which posted a significant recovery to reaffirm its typical position as the best-selling vehicle in the South American country. With 16,848 deliveries, the subcompact car achieved its second-best monthly sales result so far in 2021, surpassed only by the 17,706 sales posted in January. Similarly, the Chevy Tracker also saw improved performance, achieving its second best monthly result in the first 11 months of 2021.

The results were enabled by GM resuming production of the Onix and Tracker in Brazil after several months of downtime.

It’s also worth noting the solid sales performance of the Chevy Cruze last month. The compact car saw its highest monthly sales volume in recent years in the Brazilian market with a massive increase of 147 percent on an annual basis. The Chevy TrailBlazer SUV was the second Chevy model that managed to increase sales in Brazil during November, albeit maintaining a generally low volume of 176 units.

Going forward, we expect Chevrolet Brazil to post gains in sales volume as pent-up demand is satisfied and landed inventory levels improve.

  1. In the List, says nothing about Equinox, Joy & Joy Plus. Joy family is gone end of month, the production ceased,
but still in stock for selling. Equinox is an import of north-american like supposed Bolt and Camaro would be !

When suggested to an ex college of Faculty in USP Engineer also, who was working indirect in the robots of PickUp Montana Production, denied my suggestion yesterday, answering, ‘ what GM pays in those 250 new engineers in S. Caetano Plant does not aggregate …’ talking further, he means GM dismissed Seniors Engineers in past and would contracting juniors for very low salaries, again, and again, as ever was there, so the salaries would be still some R$ 6 000 or US$ 1000 maximum to them. He said also GM is in bad market positions. Regret suggesting him possibility to work

Still in opinion seeing those 5 down sales consecutive in S. Paulo and in South America, that GMB should cease most of productions operator and do most as import of Vehicles only, because the cheapest unity is some US$ 11800 each

  2. Lol…little gm is doing what they are doing here in the USA, and other countries, slow ICE production to a crawl and speed up EVs as soon as possible. Little gm is making their numbers with EV marketing and Biden gov’t funding. Nothing new and continue to expect this a the new little gm…
