General Motors has begun refreshing its Cadillac dealer network in Mexico, the only country in Latin America where the automaker’s luxury brand is officially marketed. The local subsidiary of the company has just inaugurated its first dealership with Cadillac’s new global image in the Latin country, in harmony with the brand’s international strategy to offer customers a more exclusive experience.
The start of the Cadillac dealerships’ renewal in Mexico is part of the global transformation of the brand as the pinnacle of GM technology and innovation, while laying the foundation for the future growth plan in the Mexican market. In addition to embracing the latest corporate image, the renovation is preparing stores for the all-new Cadillac Lyriq – which will arrive in the country in 2023 as the brand’s first all-electric vehicle.
“The renovated Cadillac showrooms are the perfect representation of the brand’s new image and the future that’s coming for our vehicles and for our customers,” said President and CEO of GM Mexico, Francisco Garza, in a statement. “We are working with our dealer network so that by the end of 2021, we will open our second new-image Cadillac dealership in Culiacán, and the following year, we’ll cover the cities of Puebla, Mérida and Guadalajara, as well as Central America and the Caribbean,” he added.
The long-awaited renewal of the Cadillac dealers in Mexico began with the Cadillac Angar Satélite dealer located in the metropolitan area of the Mexican capital, which became the first showroom to adopt the new global image of the brand in that country. The dealership, which previously sold Buick, Cadillac and GMC vehicles on the same show floor, now has a dedicated area with its own facade and the brand’s architectural design.
In particular, the new global image of Cadillac dealers includes display sections, floors and other elements that are modularly matched with high-quality materials and furnishings specially selected to highlight the brand’s signature values. In addition, the range of neutral and peaceful colors in the Cadillac portfolio is also reflected in the ambience of the brand’s new dealers.
The renewal of the distributors will continue in the next few days with the reopening of the Cadillac Culiacán dealership and will be extended during the next year to each of the 20 authorized stores of the brand in Mexico. It is expected that all existing Cadillac, Buick and GMC dealers in the country will receive a remodeling of their spaces with a special area dedicated to the iconic luxury brand, offering an exclusive experience to customers.

Mexican existing customers will end up like US customers who live in areas without dealers any longer and have no where to get their cars serviced. I live in an area with 800,000 people and both the Cadillac dealers chose to drop the line due to the cost of the Cadillac “new image”. The Augusta, GA dealer closed after 88 years in business.
I’ve read on here that Cadillac is intentionally trying to reduce dealerships to an Audi-like headcount to reduce promotions, internal competition, and build an image of exclusivity.
Albany, NY, my home town, had four or more in the greater Capital dDstrict when I was young with many tired to other GM brands.
Mark Reuss said something about this being Cadillac’s “last chance”. With Apple and Lucid joining the premium space this likely could mean the demise of Cadillac outside China with GMC Hummer and Corvette bringing in the big margins. The new IQ nomenclature is silly, not sophisticated, so design and quality not to mention public perception will mean a lot. Cadillac Optiq sounds like a brand of eyedrops!!
What?
It makes sense if you look where some older dealers are located, they are not growing areas. Albany had 4, no offense but I am sure population is going down there. They need to relocate to cities/areas that are growing and have disposable wealth. IE SE, SW and China.
Wonderful you can create great expectation and have new Cadillac’s in Mexico but here in America GM does squat to get new cars to our dealerships. Come on GM get your head out of your ass.
Yes, as a Cadillac salesperson, I sold a Escalade to a young Cadillac customer of mine, that has bought three past Escalade’s from me, from the date we ordered it, 18 months later, yes, 18 months later he took delivery! Think he is impressed? No.
With the Cartels flush with cash due to the expansion in the human trafficking business and dope enterprises they want marble tables to count their blood money on.
… and unfortunate all this stupidiq wood around killing the trees, so is our worlds since 500 years
Uhh, wait, what?
Thought all the Republican owned opioid company CEOS are the 1st customers?….
Name them
The Sackler family who recently received immunity from their drug dealing and still be rich after penalties, plenty of Cadillac cash….
Question how much do you know about the current opiate crisis? Do you speak from personal experience of your own or just what you see on the news? I ask this question as a person who abused drugs for over 20 years on and off and did a 10 year prison stint. Which by the way means I can’t legally vote so When people finger point at a certain group it always makes me curious how much they really know about it.
And you are educated how Junkie By sticking a needle in your arm or a straw up your nose I will take the word of border patrol And the DEA Over a junkie any day
Lmao and what exactly did they tell you? You must be the expert on it so let’s hear it? Next time let the person who was asked the question answer themselves but please go ahead shed some light on the situation lol. One last thing I have been clean for over 7 years so if the junkie thing was suppose to be an insult try harder next time lol.
Unless they told you they allow it to come across which I doubt they told you that, then you got lied to and were sheepish enough to believe the lie. So congratulations sir you are easily manipulated.
Ahh yes the good old trust worthy DEA how else can you tell us you are a bootlicker?
The news, don’t care for the latest “high”, regardless the answer started from because a Cadillac is sold in Mexico don’t mean Cartels are buying it, if you make borderline bigot statements I’ll point out this nation’s sins also.
That’s interesting I looked up what you said and from what I am reading I’m not seeing the same things you are claiming. Can you send me a website I can go check your info thanks.
Ken,
Look it’s simple! Mexico gets great fan fair while now Cadillacs sit in Detroit waiting for deliver to US Dealers who are bleeding cash because they have no new inventory.
I have ordered two (2) new Ct4-v’s dating back to August both built and neither delivered. GM is screwing their dealers it almost looks like they want them to go out of business. These dealership have been loyal to Cadillac for decades and now it look like GM Cadillac division is looking to kill them off . Why?
Why would the ceo of a pharmaceutical company drive something as cheap as a Cadillac?
They are the Bentley crowd for sure.
And big Liz Warren donaters also
