2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Overlanding Concept: Live Photo Gallery

As is tradition, the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas played host to a wide variety of off-roaders, including several General Motors pickups and SUVs. Among these was the 2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Overlanding Concept, and now, GM Authority is getting up close to this trail-ready utility vehicle with the following Live Photo Gallery.

In case it wasn’t obvious, this concept SUV is based on the 2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71, taking the off-roader to a whole new level with a selection of parts from the Chevrolet Accessories and Chevrolet Performance catalogues. The exterior is covered Cherry Red Tintcoat paint, while a number of black and red details complement, including red recovery hooks and a black front illuminated Bowtie Emblem. There’s also a set of auxiliary A-pillar off-road lights from Lumen.

In the sides, we find this Chevy Tahoe rolling on 18-inch beadlock wheels with a body-color matched beadlock ring and 33-inch OD Mud/Terrain tires, plus black center caps. Black tubular assist steps ease ingress and egress, while blacked-out Z71 badges and Tahoe emblems continue the theme.

With tinted glass and attractive taillight housings, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Overlanding concept looks good from the rear as well. Up top is the black roof rack cross rail package, plus a High Country 80-inch Premium Tent. Illuminated front and rear door sill plates with the Tahoe script add to the look.

Under the hood is the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque from the factory. This particular Chevy Tahoe is also equipped with a new cat-back exhaust system with black chrome tips. Keeping it shiny side up is the optional Magnetic Ride Control and Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, the latter of which is locked in the tallest ride height for show purposes.

As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe rides on the GM T1 platform and features an independent rear suspension. Production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas. In addition to the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the Tahoe is also available with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, the latter of which is not available on Z71 trims. All three engines connect to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

  1. Tent =$3,400! You really have to be kidding me? I could buy a North Face expedition tent that would be suitable for the Mt Everest base camp for less.
