GM Authority extensively outlined the changes and updates to the 2022 Tahoe. Noteworthy updates over the 2021 model include the introduction of Front and Rear Park Assist and Buckle To Drive as standard on all models. There’s also expanded availability of the 6.2L L87 V8 gasoline EcoTec3 engine, which is now available on RST and Z71 models via the addition of the new Sport Performance Package and Off-Road Performance Package.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is assembled by GM USA at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas. Both the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban went into production on October 4th of this year, as previously reported exclusively by GM Authority. The two Chevy models, along with their GMC (Yukon / Yukon XL) and Cadillac (Escalade / Escalade ESV) platform mates are the only models whose production GM didn’t idle during the ongoing microchip shortage. The automaker did so by allocating chips from other vehicle lines to the full-size SUVs.

Can you PLEASE describe to me the “movable running boards” on the Chevy Taho/ Youcon, and the ground lowering capability of the air suspension. My wife and I are handicapped and need EASY ACCESS, but want a higher auto. Thank you.

I believe you are referring to Power assist steps. When you open the door to the vehicle, the steps will come down from underneath the door, and they do come lower than the standard stationary assist steps. The adaptive air suspension will also bring the ride height of the vehicle lower when you place it in park, and then raise it to driving height when you put it in drive.

I am so glad the automakers are rediscovering color. Seemed like we had moved to a world of black, white and grey.

Sadly most of these new colors only last a year or so then it’s right back to white gray silver black and more of the same.

I’m ok with them only lasting a year, as long as the replacement color is also not white/black/grey. I even sort of like the constantly changing palette. Variety is the spice of life.

Interesting color – mainly because it isn’t one of their 50 shades of gray that they insist on painting vehicles.

Some one-year colors turn out well. In 1965, GM had a light purple color – – Pontiac called it Irish Mist, Chevy called it Evening Orchid. It was an odd color, so few cars were painted that way. Consequently, if you now have a GTO or other special interest GM car with that color, it is worth big bucks just because it is rare.

Iris Mist and Evening Orchid from 1965. Gorgeous color.

Just more dark mode colors. Whatever happen to the light blues, greens and a few others. Ever try maintaining these huge vehicles, not soon after the delivery, like black, they’ll look terrible and if you live in salt road country it’s worse.

This looks like the same color that Cadillac’s putting on XT5’s, 6’s, etc and calling Rosewood Metallic. If it is, it’s a pretty ugly color. We’re thinking about replacing my wife’s XT5, and stopped at our dealer recently to see about ordering a new one. They only had two 2022 XT5’s in stock (I was surprised they had any), they were both painted Rosewood. Two weeks later they still have both of them. Considering that dealers are selling anything they can get their hands on, I must not be the only buyer who thinks the color’s ugly.

A fine looking color. Now, if I could get a split bench seat but with some of the equipment they REFUSE to offer in the only trim level offering the bench…!
