After having overcome a very challenging situation caused by a five-and-a-half month production suspension in Brazil, the Chevy Onix is regaining its position as the best-selling vehicle in the South American country. To celebrate the vehicle’s return to the top of the sales charts, General Motors has just released the updated 2022 Chevy Onix in the Brazilian market with expanded connectivity features.
The main novelty of the updated 2022 Chevy Onix in Brazil is the expansion of the most comprehensive connectivity package on the market to a greater number of trim levels, which was previously exclusive to the range-topping Premier model. The “level four” connectivity package is comprised of an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar services, the myChevrolet app, wireless phone projection and remote car software updates.
“The Brazilian consumer is looking for increasingly safer and more equipped cars, and connectivity gains prominence in the driver’s day-to-day life. Even at the time of vehicle resale, these aspects influence, bringing advantages to more technological models,” said Director of Connected Services at GM South America, Jaime Gil Toledo, in a statement. “The increased demand for services such as OnStar and Chevrolet’s Wi-Fi vehicle shows that there is also a great business opportunity for General Motors,” he added.
The 2022 Chevy Onix for the Brazilian market will offer the most advanced connectivity package on the mid-grade RS hatchback, the LTZ trim in both sedan and hatchback body styles as well as the exclusive Midnight trim of the sedan, known in that country as the Onix Plus. This equipment change strengthens the Onix as the most advanced subcompact vehicle in South America.
Additionally, the automaker introduced a new calibration of the 1.0L turbocharged engine and six-speed automatic transmission in the updated 2022 Chevy Onix in order to reduce emissions and improve responsiveness. GM claims this powertrain tweak, which doesn’t affect the engine’s output of 116 horsepower and 122 pound-feet of torque, improves the Onix’s ride quality and makes it more enjoyable to drive.
The updated 2022 Chevy Onix will be available starting next month in the Chevrolet dealership network in Brazil, where the vehicle has been the sales leader for the past five years. The Onix stands out from its main competitors for its exhaustive list of technological, safety, convenience and mechanical equipment. In fact, it was the first in its class to include six airbags, electronic traction and stability control as standard.

Is there no chip shortage in South American markets ?
YES…. for example, VWB Taubaté closed the factory for 5 months, since January 2022 1200 temporary workers layoff dismissed and fix employees at home, to change the stopped production of Gol Platform to introduce in between, when out of order, to the Polo Platform next generation, good Christmas Gift, isn’t it ? had in my past some of these as well
1. things we do not need in a car… instead would like more chromes around
2. but the Joy family goes out of production end of month
Looks like a Subaru Impreza.
yes, it has 4 wheels either
MK, there is a chrome package in many vehicles, so you can order yours with it. If not, you can wrap your vehicle in chrome decal as well. Chrome is going away. Chrome although being a rust preventive element in steel is otherwise a huge contamination source. Even the big rigs like Freightliner are moving away from chrome. I have not seen a Lamborghini, Ferrari or a McLaren with chrome. Perhaps some of the Ferraris in the 1960’s had it but not any more.
So chrome will be done just like the manual transmissions. Electric vehicles do not need them. Going green and sustainable in the future does not have chrome in its plans.
no, at rear and windshield not. neither bumpers outside mirrors etc
and go further … would like an hood ornament goddess from factory … very elegant
so you haven’t seen Ferraris enough, go in pebble beach next to see
F250 has chrome, 350 GTV has chrome, mc laren is not a decent car, it is a playboy dildo toy

F250 has chrome, 350 GTV has chrome, the other is a toy, do not need an EV either, it is not green
sustainable is a modern word for most only crutches
If I get a dollar everytime someone say that manual transmissions are going away, I will be… hundredaire. Stop fooling yourself. Cars with ICE are not going anywhere, either.
GM should have never quit Europe. These designs would have suited Opel well riding on a premium GEM platform.
PSA was able to make Opel profitable within one year and GM could have done the same by leasing surplus factory space, subcontracting workers to other companies, and by poaching quality EVs from other GM brands. Lyriq would have been an easy reskin as a range topper.
Opel… better saying German People is too arrogant and snob to accept a product designed in China,
Opel ever imposed the products down in South America or to UK Vauxhall… Xenophobia, this is called.
According the History, South America is still seeing as a Colony to serve Europe, so see VW in Brasil as well
BMW, though producing in Brasil, does never accept a Brazilian Engineer as Study, in their Department as Employee
Europe has a strong, USA as well, of those feelings… Remember. a stranger is to clean streets and bring money. This mentality is still. Has in California a Mexican as CEO a north American company like American Airlines… No, in Google has an India… but in Europe .. the mentality is… only Germans are Hotel directors in Cruise Ships, never a Filipo. ‘Ausländers’ are only to build up Germany
Complete bullshit. And do dry to better with your English.
