2021 Corvette With A Salvage Title Up For Auction Online

With demand for the Corvette at an all-time high, the American sports car can be hard to come by and even more difficult to get a good deal on right now. However, a new listing on eBay for 2021 Corvette Stingray with a salvage title could offer hopeful Corvette owners a solution to the current inventory backlog – as long as they are willing to carry out some of their own repair work.
This car, which is currently in the possession of a used car dealer in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, is missing its front bumper and has rather significant damage to the rear fascia, including a cracked diffuser and bent/damaged exhausts and tips. The vehicle history report indicates the car was crashed on December 4th, 2021 in Green Cove Springs, Florida and later deemed a complete loss by the insurance company.
While this car would be somewhat expensive to repair, the repair work would be mostly limited to cosmetic work and there wouldn’t be overly difficult. The airbags are still intact and the listing makes no mention of suspension, powertrain or drivetrain damage, either, noting that the vehicle “runs and drives.” It was crashed with just 1,225 miles on the odometer, so the buyer can be sure there’s still plenty of life left in the 6.2L LT2 V8 engine and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
In a sign of the current economic situation, this crashed, salvage title 2021 Corvette has a rather steep But It Now price of $76,900. A 2021 Corvette in the 1LT trim level carries a pre-tax asking price of $62,195 including destination and freight from Chevrolet, so the seller seems to be looking to capitalize on the current demand for the mid-engine sports car.

Good luck trying to find replacement body panels and parts for this car.
There may be some take off parts in Bowling Green
Go to GM car parts on-line. Parts are available
Listing parts for sale is one thing. Try to actually BUY them and see what happens.
Might be a better parts car than a rebuild and less headaches
Someone ill buy this car- patch it us and sell it some unsuspecting sucker 0 then the Vette will get bad reviews – better to part the car out and make sure all components are 100%
If it has a salvage title any potential new owner will know it. No way to hide it
You’re best bet is part out. Rebuild is never the same as factory intact. Stuff on salvage rebuilds haunts you down the road.
I would think that a salvage title would be fine for a race car use, (off road only). But not at that price, that’s crazy.
Rod Launer:
You can bet your boots that the auction strike price will be insane with the shills pumping the bid. And some naive sucker taking it in the shorts.
As a professional auto body /restoration shop owner/manager/worker I see no reason why that Corvette cannot be repaired. Again I only see a picture and not the real thing, but the air bags didn’t deploy so I don’t think the car was damanged that much. With that said I do think 76K is way out of the ball park since you can have a new one for less. I’ve rebuilt many “totals” over my career and didn’t have any problems with them, but then again you got to know what you’re buying and how to repair properly.
If there is damage at the front and back on the bottom, I’d be leery. Could have gone over a curb with unrepairable frame damage underneath
ghia carl…….. I agree !!!!!!! I to have many years in the autobody industry(over 30yrs) 10yrs owning my own shop and rebuilt several totaled(salvaged) vehicles that I kept and drove my family around in daily… there is a right way and a wrong way to repair the damage. as long as it’s done correctly there is nothing wrong with it when the repairs are completed…. as far as this Corvette, from the pictures the damage looks to be cosmetic and not structural…. if thats the case replace the parts and get it back on the road…. that is if you dont mind paying a premium for a salvaged titled car plus repairs….. but fix this one and enjoy
Since the Bowling Green plant does not sell anything directly to the public, cheap parts are not going to happen. That “salvage” title will haunt the street life of that car. Race track, not so much.
Never-the-less, the selling dealer appears to be trying to make at least a quick 35K profit. It takes a special kind of person to sell used cars, not the kind I want to associate with.
Mike: Agree with you. Used car dealers handling salvage units and titles are turn em and burn em flippers. They troll the insurance salvage pool auctions hoping to snag something. Strictly bottom feeders. Buyer beware.
What do you mean by a special kind of person?
The $77K price tag is just the beginning. Figure in at least another $20K +, for parts (if they are available – likely none available at junkyards, so they’ll have to be purchased new from a GM Dealer) and labor done at legit and conscientious body shop, and you’re pushing $100K, if not more. Plus the fact that the car now has a salvage title means the new owner will never get the top-dollar, for resale, as compared to an undamaged 2021 Corvette. If the car could be bought for about $55K, then the deal might make sense,
It’s a great deal for someone who wants to drive the wheels off it and retire it at 300k + miles. Someone who doesn’t want to have to worry about every scratch in the supermarket parking lot and etc. Drive it like an old rusty Checker cab and feel no guilt at all. Oh yeah…LoL
Salvage means at least half price and parts it’s not in the ballpark of rebuilding at this price
Salvage means at least half the price including parts from the MSRP of $62,195. At a Buy It Now price of $76,900, the numbers make a rebuild financially out of the question, especially since this Corvette is salvage title!
Rotsa ruck trying to get asking start price of $76,900 on eBay for a 2021 Corvette thst has a salvage title with a beat up front end.
Best bet to unload it to have a offer price window in the eBay listing. A decent value for this vehicle is $25 to $30K.
