The 2019 Buick Envision is the fourth model year of the first-generation nameplate, dropping in prior to the second generation’s introduction for the 2021 model year. Now, American non-profit consumer organization Consumer Reports has highlighted the 2019 Buick Envision as one of the most-reliable three-year-old vehicles available.
According to Consumer Reports, three-year-old used vehicles are still a good choice for budget-minded buyers, even with the recent rise in used vehicle prices. As the organization points out, most vehicle leases are for three years, which means many of the models have low miles and are in good, well-maintained condition.
As for the 2019 Buick Envision specifically, Consumer Reports gives the compact four-door crossover a rating of five out of five in Reliability, with major reliability trouble spots all rated with a top score of five out of five. That said, there are some common trouble spots identified, specifically the fuel system, rated at three out of five, and the paint/trim, also rated at three out of five.
That said, Consumer Reports ranks the 2019 Buick Envision number one of 10 in Reliability among 2019-model-year “SUVs.”
Consumer Reports also rates the 2019 Buick Envision with two out of five in Owner Satisfaction, and overall fuel economy of 23 mpg.
As a reminder, the 2019 Buick Envision was offered with the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, rated at 197 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, and the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, rated at 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The 2.5L I4 LCV connects to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.0L I4 LTG connects to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the Envision rides on the GM D2 platform. Assembly took place at GM Dong Yue factory in China.

Car has been perfect, wife loves it.
I have a 2020, been an awesome car
Promote the responsible Chief Engineer for the 2019 Envision to Mark Reuss’s job. Maybe that will help with the poor CR reliability ratings on the rest of the vehicles.
I drive only GM but consumer reports is a fake phony fraud
Our 2016 Envision Prem ll was quite the ride and very refined for passengers. We never had a problem with ours as it was a Cadillac(wolf) in sheep’s clothing.
My 2019 Essence trim has been a great vehicle. It is much more comfortable than the 2015 Terrain SLT it replaced.
i also had a Terrain before my 2017 Envision. really no comparison in the refinement and ride quality. I’m buying a ’22 Acadia since Buick refuses to offer the Envision GX hoping I like it. Keeping the Envision.
2019 Premium II has been rock solid.
Ever since I did my own research on the best VCR to buy back in the dark ages of electronics I have never trusted CR. That process has repeated itself many times more with home appliances, vehicles, etc. That said I hope their evaluation of the Buick Envision is correct and reliable because I am on the side of “Buy American, even though some of the vehicle is built in the last place I’d willingly buy from
That model design doesn’t look as if it’s sold in the states
