The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces a long list of changes and updates to the nameplate, including a redesigned exterior, a heavily revamped interior and new available technology like GM’s hands-free Super Cruise driving assistant.
GM also made some minor changes to the GMC Sierra 1500’s powertrain lineup for the 2022MY, dropping the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV3 and 5.3L V8 L82 gasoline engines. While neither of these engines will be available to order, the rest of the truck’s powertrain lineup returns, with the Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT and AT4 trim levels all offering the same powertrain availability as previous.

The base-level Pro (formerly called Sierra) will feature the turbocharged 2.7L L3B I-4 as standard, while the naturally aspirated 5.3L L84 V8 will be offered as an option. The SLE and Elevation, meanwhile, will offer the 2.7L L3B as standard, with both the 5.3L L84 V8 and 3.0L LM2 I-6 turbodiesel offered for a price premium. The SLT and Denali will have the 5.3L L84 V8 as standard, while the 6.2L L87 V8 and 3.0L LM2 I-6 will be optional. The AT4 is the only model that comes standard with the 3.0L LM2 and offers the 6.2L L87 as an option.
Among the changes applied to the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 was the addition of two new model variants, the Denali Ultimate and AT4-X. The Denali Ultimate comes with the 6.2L L87 V8 and can also be ordered with the 3.0 LM2 I-6, while the AT4-X is only offered with the 6.2L L87 V8.
The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 will hit dealers in the first quarter of the 2022 calendar year. Pricing for the entry-level Pro trim starts at $32,495 including destination, while the range-topping Denali Ultimate is priced from $80,395.

Looks like the order book is now available on the gm fleet website
That grill looks like a kid with braces!
Forget the 4 banger. A truck needs a proven v8.
Any info on 2500 GMC Denali
5.3 is a turd , engine needs an upgrade badly to compete , who wants a 4 banger , 6.2 availability still not great plus the premium fuel requirement and fuel mileage , and not everyone wants a diesel. Disappointing lineup.
Why is the 6.2 only available in a 4wd configuration? They need to add a 6.2 HO engine to the Denali Ultra and the AT4X.
Why the PRO doesn’t get the diesel option some fleet owner will put high miles on their trucks.
What is the current status on the TAHOE SS?….Haven’t heard a word in quite a while…
Thanks, Donny
Did they fix the 5.3L lifter problem ?
