New Rancho RS7MT Shocks Introduced For Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra

Off-road suspension manufacturer Rancho has introduced its new RS7MT Monotube Shock Absorber, available for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup truck lines.

As a reminder, GM pickups like the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and GMC Sierra AT4 come equipped with Rancho shocks right from the factory, but for those owners that want to build their own off-roader rig, or simply want to upgrade to the latest and greatest, the new Rancho RS7MT shocks may be the right choice.

The new Rancho RS7MT shock features a two-inch monotube body with all-weather fluid for cooler operation. According to the manufacturer, the shock can withstand an internal temperature range of -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 248 degrees Fahrenheit. What’s more, noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) are reduced via an internal rebound bumper and shouldered rubber bushings, while a PTFE-banded piston enhances ride quality and responsiveness.

Further features include a 14mm hardened chrome piston rod, as well as Deflective Disc Valving with digressive, linear, or progressive tuning based on the application, providing enhanced handling both on and off-road. Aeration and shock fade are reduced thanks to a full-floating dividing piston and high-pressure nitrogen gas.

As for reliability, the Rancho RS7MT has an integrated dirt wiper sealing system that ensure dirt and debris remain outside, where it belongs. Extra protection is available via the optional RS1952 and RS1961 shock boots. The shock is also double-welded at critical stress areas for added strength, with the manufacturer incorporating a double-strength closure method and hot form reserve tube.

Installation is easy, with no extra hardware needed to make it all work. The Rancho RS7MT shocks also offer a lifetime warranty.

Applications include the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup lines, including both the Light Duty 1500 and Heavy Duty models, depending on the model year selected.
