General Motors recently unveiled the new 2023 Corvette Z06, introducing next-level performance to the mid-engine C8 lineup. Now, GM’s brand for the Australian and New Zealand markets, GM Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has confirmed that customers in the Oceania region will indeed have a shot at owning the new C8 Corvette Z06.
GMSV confirmed via social media that it was “part of the Corvette Z06 global program,” adding that “details on pricing, availability and timing for ANZ will be shared late next year 2022.”
General Motors unveiled the 2023 Corvette Z06 on Tuesday, October 26th, debuting a host of go-faster features sure to delight customers around the world. The big-ticket item has to be the new engine spec, which includes the mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, making it the highest-horsepower atmospheric V8 ever fitted to a production car. The new LT6 features a flat-plane crank, dry-sump lubrication, and redline of 8,600 rpm.
Output is routed to the rear axle by way of an eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission and 5.56 final drive ratio, the latter of which is a bit shorter than that of the C8 Stingray, thus providing crispier acceleration. Braking spec includes 14.6-inch-diameter front and 15-inch-diameter rear Brembo brake rotors, which are paired with six-piston calipers and four-piston calipers, respectively.
The new 2023 Corvette Z06 is also wider than the standard C8 Stingray, riding on 20-inch front wheels wrapped in 275/30ZR20 tires, and 21-inch rear wheels wrapped in 345/25ZR21 tires.
This past September, production of right-hand-drive C8 Corvette Stingray models bound for Australia and New Zealand kicked off at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky. Like U.S. models, Australian and New Zealand models are equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine. Pricing for Aussie-bound C8 Stingray models is set at $149,990 AUD ($112,750 at current exchange rates).
Right-hand-drive examples of the eighth-generation C8 Corvette are also sold in Japan and the U.K. in limited quantities.

While we do not even know yet what the Z06 will go for in the US, I suspect this is going to be a very pricey car in AU after all the taxes and fees are added over there.
… they can change steering wheel position to wherever they want … even to a supposed rear seat… but my opinion to this Corvetterrari continues… do not need it at all… we are the ones … Sedans are the best… a Cadillac CT6 would be ok
Are you forgetting that the CT6 had been discontinued since Feb-Mar ’20? Not sure why you continue to be on the forums when it has to do with the Vette if you dislike it so much.
The ‘Vette will become a global car for GM. They have the tooling at the plant to make it necessary to compete in any country around the world.
no, did not forget… but in China continues
it is not that I dislike the car, what I dislike is people giving so much nonsense children enthusiasm for car like those…because speedracer ever had and will not be worldwide, it will be only in north america, there is none GM in Europe, neither South America would afford such, so they will not be in Brasil, neither Argentina or Colombia or Chile or Venezuela… and rarely GM Shanghai would sell it in Asia, China, Thailand or So, neither has GM in Australia, Japan also not… so it is only USA
They might be in for a rude awakening a lot of the money people in NZ are leaving but we will see.
