GM Design Team Releases Futuristic GMC Pickup Sketch

The GM Design team recently released this futuristic GMC pickup concept sketch on social media, giving fans a chance to check out some of the aesthetic inspiration behind their favorite trucks.
The GMC pickup concept sketch was done by Nathan Zabarsky, and shows the front end of the truck in grayscale, save for a splash of copper for the brake calipers. The front end features a blocked-off grille treatment with the GMC logo prominently displayed along the upper edge, just below the hood line. On either side of the grille we see lighting signatures set at a 90-degree angle, following the fender line.
Below the grille insert is a large skid plate element, as well as what appears to be additional lighting elements. Moving towards the rear of the vehicle we spot darker fender flares complementing the wheel arches, as well as large multi-spoke wheels with a two-piece construction. The ride height suggests that this model is designed for fun in the rough stuff, offering loads of ground clearance.
The GM Design team declined to provide any information on what this GMC pickup concept sketch was intended for, but judging by the blocked-off front grille, it’s possible this could be applied to something like an all-electric GMC Sierra. General Motors has already confirmed that it’s working on a full-size GMC electric pickup, and it’s gearing up to unveil a fully electric version of the GMC Sierra’s corporate cousin, the Chevy Silverado, at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show, so that speculation isn’t necessarily too out there.
That said, there are elements of this GMC pickup sketch that remind us of the recently debuted refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 as well. The front end, for example, seems to have a somewhat similar broad grille, while the lighting elements are similar as well.
All told, this concept looks promising for whatever future products may use it.

… his cheese grater on Behance Portfolio seems his best drawings really…
This isn’t a concept. This is the current truck with no grill blurred out of proportion so it’s unrecognizable and called a concept. Can we go back to the day where concepts were high definition renders with new controversial design aspects as a means to feel for what the public likes?
… it is because artists doing like Miró here and there strokes with copic maker the vehicles in market became funky, we really do not understand much how accurate that will turn but it is what GM Personal department hires… so for sure next year we are all here in this forum still complaining, when did my drawings… of course were not perfect ones… it was mediums… but tried as much as possible to be accurate, to put the lines in positions to where should be, connecting them and the curved divided well the volumes… yeah miss talents like Sydney Jay Mead because the new generations of cars designers do not know what a french curve is, I still have mines … or is the software Sketchbook Pro with Tablet Wacom Digital Pen for Example which allows too much freedom, really do not know the Problem
Wonder how the commercial and industrial users will accept this pickup design? Pickups were originally built as utility vehicles for these segments. Now pickups have evolved into designer boutique type ride and handling vehicles. Maybe two classes of pickup design for the same brand will now evolve.
No one here going to say how suspiciously close that front end mimics the Ford Raptor? GM don’t do this stuff
UGLY, YOU NEED A SHARPER PENCIL!
Bring back the 8 inch screen and cheap, squeaky plastic interior. I love retro! Plus, they can save the money for development of hydrogen.
I see a lot of Hummer queues. A raked hood with sharp cuts all around. I wonder if GM EV pickups be based on the Hummer platform?
If it is electric, and can’t tow past the next stop sign, I don’t care how it looks.
Whatever happened to form follows function?
The beauty of simplicity stood no chance of surviving in a world that is completely full of sh!t
