General Motors has filed to trademark the term “Feel The Usedphoria,” GM Authority has uncovered. The filing will be used as a new tagline for used car dealers in future marketing materials.
Filed on October 25th, 2021 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the application is assigned serial number 97090630. Under the Goods and Services category, the application lists “Automobile dealerships in the field of pre-owned motor vehicles of all makes and models.”
As GM Authority covered previously, General Motors made another filing to the USPTO in July to trademark “Carbravo,” which may be used for a new website, or possibly for a used car dealership that includes all makes and models. Under the Goods and Services category, the filing made in July lists “Automobile dealerships in the field of pre-owned motor vehicles of all makes and models.”
As covered previously, the used vehicle market is currently experiencing skyrocketing prices as vehicle inventory dries up amid the ongoing global microchip shortage and COVID-19 pandemic. According to a recent report from Cox Automotive, the average listing price for used vehicles was closing in on $27,000 in September, with continuing demand and diminished inventory. Used vehicle prices are on average 25 percent higher than they were a year ago, and continue to climb consistently month after month. Vehicle segments highest in demand include SUVs and pickup trucks.
According to the report, listing prices continue to rise, but available inventory is now starting to stabilize, with available unsold vehicles on dealer lots at 2.3 million units, up from 2.27 million at the end of August.
Presently, it is expected that the global microchip shortage may continue into the 2023 calendar year as automakers scramble to meet customer demand. To help curb the effects of the effects of the ongoing global microchip shortage, General Motors is developing its own families of microcontrollers.

How bout trademarking “ Shut the F… Up” we’re sick of gm trademarking stupid slogans!
Can’t say that I like it. Only time I was ever “euphoric” about buying a used vehicle was my very first at 18…..and it worked out so well I’ve NEVER bought another used vehicle again. Used is not a positive word GM, this is a fail.
USPTO should not accept “Feel the UsedPhoria” on the basis of ‘They Might Actually Use It’. Just weird. 🙁
Dear Mary Barra – one of your people has lost their way!
How about a real slogan that actually means something like ” AT GM WE BACK WHAT WE SELL “
What about “OK Used Cars” ? The used car mechanic at the Chevy dealer I worked at said “These are used up cars, new ones are up front!”
Wonder when GM dealers are going to display cars in a tall glass tower next to a busy freeway like highly successful Carvana? Then have a sign atop the tower spelling Carbravo? Stay tuned.
USEDPHORIA sounds like an ailment. Gotta go with something that has Pre in the name.
