As GM Authority exclusively announced last September, the all-new GMC Hummer EV pickup just made its official debut in China. General Motors is presenting the revolutionary fully electric truck for the first time in the Asian country during the 2021 China International Import Expo (CIIE), which has just started in the city of Shanghai.
The all-new GMC Hummer EV is the automaker’s main attraction at this year’s only imported vehicle exhibition in China, being the first model developed on the Ultium EV platform that GM is massively promoting in that country. As such, the Hummer EV serves to showcase the company’s technological strength and the reach of its products to promote a greener, better and safer future for all.
“This is an era of technology transformation, one that is empowering us to offer new value propositions for our iconic nameplates as electrification and intelligent connected driving become game-changing forces,” said GM China Vice President of Premium Import, Felix Weller, in a statement. “The all-electric path that we are laying at CIIE is one of many that will accelerate the arrival of the carbon peak and carbon neutrality. It is our answer to a global call to action toward sustainability that includes China’s rising voices,” he added.
Notably, this is the first time the GMC Hummer EV pickup has been shown at a public event outside of North America, as part of the ambitious communication strategy GM is rolling out to promote the Ultium EV platform and accelerate the entry of electric vehicles in China. At least for the moment, the company has no intentions or an action plan to sell the new Hummer EV in the Asian country.
Defying the traditional perception of a truck, the GMC Hummer EV pickup arrives as the first supertruck on the market with an exceptional combination of high performance, high off-road capabilities and zero emissions. At the fourth edition of the CIIE show, the Edition 1 variant of the electric pickup is showcased, raising capabilities and marking a new chapter of sustainable development in the history of the iconic American vehicle.
The all-new GMC Hummer EV pickup will be on display at the 2021 CIIE from this Friday until next Wednesday, November 10th, with the full-throttle Watts to Freedom launch mode and CrabWalk diagonal driving functionality among its top exclusive attributes. The exhibition will serve to gauge the level of interest in the vehicle and promote the Ultium EV platform among Chinese consumers.

RESPECT
Your closet says it cares…
LOL
Old Mary is bent over again take about white slaves..
We’re selling China our products and taking their money, that’s fine with me.
Lol yea and sending them what quadrupole if not more of our money?
Another gm vehicle that doesn’t exist.
Why is it called a DEBUT in China, if there are no plans to sell it there?
China government did not allow the Colorado to be sold, let alone the Hummer. Giving the opportunity to a regular chinese citizen to buy a US Truck would mean a threat to them, in many aspects, at least for now.
