In September, GM Authority brought you a live gallery of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV. However, those shots showed the upcoming electric super SUV parked inside an outdoor tent at the 2021 Motorbella Show. In fact, all of the photos of the Hummer EV SUV we’ve seen thus far show the model in the confines of a studio or a building, and always in the Moonshot Green Matte color only available on the Edition 1 model, which has already been sold out. But now, we’ve gotten our hands on a new set of real-world photos of the upcoming electric SUV.
The photos, sent exclusively to us by GM Authority reader Chris D, show the 2024 Hummer EV SUV as it was undergoing testing on the road.
This tester, coated in white, appears to be equipped with the limited Edition 1 package, which includes the following features:
- 4 Wheel Steer with CrabWalk mode, which enables the vehicle to move laterally across the trail and more easily navigate tight trails
- Adaptive Air Suspension with Extract Mode
- 22-inch wheels with 35-inch-OD Goodyear all-terrain tires
- e4WD with torque vectoring
This truck is also equipped with the available Extreme Off-Road Package, which adds:
- Unique 18-inch wheels and 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
- Hummer EV SUV comes standard with 22-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires
- Underbody armor and rock sliders
- UltraVision with underbody cameras (front- and rear-facing with wash system)
- Front eLocker and rear virtual lockers
- Heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts
The white body color enables us to better understand the various elements finished in a contrasting color. Up front, the Hummer EV SUV features a script-style logo, delivered via the backlit front light bar that also emulates a traditional grille on an ICE model. The front light bar is bookended by a set of thin headlights. Below it resides a black, high-clearance front bumper with a set of fog lights, along with a front skid plate with black recovery hooks. Note that the lower front fascia features an H-shaped lower fascia treatment.
Up top, the Hummer EV SUV is equipped as standard with an Infinity Roof for an open-air driving experience on demand. The removable roof panels and the A-pillar are finished in glossy black. Also note the roof-mounted light element, which contains a trio of amber lights (not illuminated on these photos) on top of the windshield.
The profile of the Hummer EV SUV is similar to that of the pickup, but with an extended roofline that covers the rear cargo area. The part of the roof over the cargo area is body-color, switching from the glossy black of the roof panels. Also note the pedestal-style exterior mirrors and the relatively unique shapes of the wheel wells, which feature a set of accessory lights at the top of the wheel well.
The overall stance is quite wide, although the battery-holding underbelly doesn’t appear all that attractive when the SUV isn’t equipped with the off-road assist steps with rock sliders.
Out back, we can see a black charge port door, familiar H-shape in the tail lamps, along with the full-size spare, and high-clearance rear bumper.
From a size standpoint, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV’s wheelbase is 9 inches shorter than that of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, with the space between the wheels measuring in at 126.7 inches for the SUV and 135.6 for the Pickup. The difference in wheelbase, along with the reconfigured body, results in the Hummer EV SUV being 20 inches shorter than in its pickup sibling.
The front and rear fascia are trimmed high for impressive approach and departure angles, rated at 49.6 degrees for the approach, and 49 degrees for the departure (without the spare). Max break over angle is rated at 34.4 degrees. Suspension travel is an impressive 13 inches.
All that enables the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV to climb a 60-percent grade, either forward or in reverse, and it to ford water crossings up to 32 inches deep.
The GMC Hummer EV rides on the GM BT1 all-electric platform, which underpins both the SUV and the Pickup. Motivation is derived from GM’s Ultium Battery and Ultium Drive Technology, with this particular model (the Edition 1) equipped with the range-topping three-motor setup. Output is rated at 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. Production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan, with the first units expected to ship later next year.

2024
Why more than a decade behind the competition?
And they probably build no more than 1500 a year just like the already dated lyriq.
2023 production, 2024 model year.
They aren’t a decade behind anyone. They have more than just the Hummer coming out.
Also the Lyriq is going to have more than just 1500 a year produced. That’s just the number for the initial First Editions. Come summer Lyriq production will be in full gear.
I knew my boy would be the first one on here defending gm. Nebula I sent gm corporate a email telling them they need to give you a job. You would be a great lawyer for them because no matter what they did you would argue and talk about how great they are.
What competition? What is this competing with that’s been around since 2014. Hell, what is it competing with that’s coming out now?
Tesla fanboys think the Model X is an SUV.
Like the expensive EVs GM has sold in the past don’t expect to see more than 5,000 sold annually. Who asked for this vehicle?
sure beats the boring Bronco looks !!
But won’t hold a flame to the bronco sales or preorders.
Lets find out in the future shall we?
We’ve already found out big homie look at the preorder numbers look at the price difference you can be a fan that’s fine but use your head for once.
Robert you sound like a hater. Just remember over 160,000 bronco preorders converted to orders.
Bronco is more affordable than the Hummer so both are catered to different markets. Even the Bronco is a cool looking SUV, it is not a premium vehicle like the Hummer is.
I like the olive color, in white it looks like an ice cream truck.
Ding ding, I am in for ordering a white one.
Once the Hummer SUT & SUV come out swinging in full gear, it will be a hit with celebrities, pro athletes and music artists.
don’t forget regular Joes, I know a few of them that have ordered the HummerEV’s
Regular joes? What is your definition of a regular Joe?
https://www.hummerchat.com/
Ask the people here.
For what I’m asking the person who made the comment what there definition of a regular Joe is. So reread what I said.
I’ll take the 400 mile Rivian. I can better afford it. I like the slightly smaller size. Hopefully not too many bugs. They have been testing it for a few years.🤞
The future silverado ev should be compared to the rivian, not the hummer ev
I can’t wait to hot wire of these honeys I’m really looking forward to it. I was lucky enough to hot wire two different H2 and one H1 and one H3. People don’t realize how easy it is to get into these vehicles.
Just my take but they should color match the sides of the transparent roof. In this picture it literally looks like they slapped on a camper. Color matching would make the side profile cleaner
Or just blackout the roof all together
In one day Rivian is worth more than gm. Mary is freaking out! Stand still and everyone will pass you by!
gm fan boys and girls and everything in between (keeping it woke just as gm likes it) still tell themselves gm is ahead of the competition.
LOL
There’s a good chance GM will sell more Hummers to real customers this year than Rivian.
Why call it an EV SUV? Just call it an ESUV.
Wish i can afford it, i would just drive it around the globe. see how long it would cost to circumnavigate the earth with it.
I would love to drive this around the ghetto – see how long my hubcaps would last once I park it.
What hubcaps? This thing doesn’t have any. LOL
I checked that website I couldn’t find a answer to anything Donavan said on there so I think you meant to originally reply to someone else. But thanks anyways I appreciate you thinking you were helping.
for sure need surround camera with all those blind spots in back!
