2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible At SEMA Show: Live Photo Gallery

The 2023 Corvette Z06 debuted late last month with a variety of go-faster goodies, with GM introducing both a Coupe and a Convertible body style. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible from the floor of the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Sitting pretty at the Chevy booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center, this 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible is equipped with the optional Z07 Performance Package, which adds even more track-worthy equipment to the equation. This particular example is also finished in an eye-catching shade dubbed Amplify Orange.

Let’s start up front, where we spot a new front fascia that’s unique to the 2023 Corvette Z06, featuring larger vents and intakes and a unique front splitter. As we can see, the Z07 Package also adds full carbon fiber aero, with an even-larger front splitter and front-corner dive planes

The profile view reveals new rocker panels and a new side intake trim bit with a “wishbone” shape, plus some Z06 badging. The 2023 Corvette Z06 is offered with eight wheel designs, two of which are made from carbon fiber and reduce unsprung mass by a massive 41 pounds, as equipped on this particular example. The brakes are also upgraded via the Z07 Performance Package with new carbon ceramic units sized at 15.7 inches in front and 15.4 inches in the rear.

Providing the stick are Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tires via the Z07 Performance Package, while FE7 suspension bits with specially tuned Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers keep it shiny side up.

In the rear, the 2023 Corvette Z06 features a central exhaust treatment with quad tips. We also see the Z06’s stance was widened by 3.6 inches, complemented by an extra 40mm of tire. Slim air extraction vents are up top. And of course, this particular model is equipped with the massive Z07 carbon fiber rear wing, which GM Authority was the first to uncover. Rounding out the aero treatment is a new underbody strake kit. Put it all together, and the Z07 aero produces 734 pounds of downforce at 186 mph.

Making it go is the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, offered as the highest-horsepower atmospheric V8 ever offered in a production vehicle, featuring a flat-plane crank, dual overhead cams, an all-aluminum block, and 8,600-rpm redline. Output is rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which reaches the rear axle through an eight-speed automatic transmission and shortened 5.56 final drive ratio.

Like the C8 Corvette Stingray, the 2023 Corvette Z06 is based on the Y2 platform. Production will take place at the GM Bowling Green Assembly facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with sales ramping up next year.

  5. While this car will be a resounding success…performance wise, sales wise, it’s going to be a “Cluster Fk” with dealers going all out to screw every “more money than brains” multimillionaire whose just got to have this car to show off to his friends!
In essence, those of us Corvette lovers (who now own & actually drive our Corvette’s everywhere) who have saved “our nickels and dimes” and are ready to dive into our “401K’s” and will actually attempt to order one of these amazing vehicles will have to contend with obstinate, arrogant and greedy dealers who will be taking advantage of this cars new buyers, leaving us “Average Joe’s” simply longing for and watching these “Beastly Corvette’s” appear, slowly at our local “Cars and Coffee” events, Car Show events, and the occasional Automotive Press Magazines where we can read and drool over for test results possibly at race tracks all over the USA.
I suppose that’s the way it has to be, my Porsche friends have had to deal with the issue, certain models of course, while higher priced and “barely attainable to the Average Joe” have had their “MSRP” pushed into the “don’t even think about buying this vehicle if you have to ask how much can I get this vehicle for” atmosphere!
Sadly, it’ll just be a matter of time after they are finally made available before we see the “first totaled Z06” on these pages and of course in the nightly news. In the meantime I’ll just patiently wait my turn hoping that in the distant future, some one will tire of their Z06 and put it up for sale…then again, realistically speaking…it’ll be priced at an even higher price than what that Z06 owner paid, especially if it ends up at certain famous auction sites (think Barrett Jackson, Mecum ect) and so once again, my dreams will be dashed. Oh well, it will at least sort of be fun watching this event all transpire right in front of our very eyes…and it’ll for sure be entertaining if nothing else!

    1. No one should be whining about dealer markups on Corvettes. There are plenty of dealers out there selling for msrp. Order one! You may have to wait up to 8 months to get it, but you will get it exactly how you want it instead of what the dealer thinks will be popular on his showroom floor. If you have to have it now, yes, go ahead and pay the premium. Order your own build and get it for msrp. That’s what I did and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

  6. I put 1K down to get on the list for the ZO6 convertible in June knowing the list would be long when it is announced. Now that it is announced the dealers are waiting to get pricing, allocation, and the date when they can order. Once I can order, I need to put an additional 4k down which is then non-refundable. I was told my vehicle will most likely be a 2025 model because of the demand. Crazy times we live in!

  7. Look we all get the fact that either your ultra rich or know someone in the automobile business to get a ZO6. If the market on the ZO6 stays strong and availability is going to be limited you probably will never get your hands on one even if your on a list at MSRP. My advice is to get on a list for a Stingray. According to my dealer I should have mine late spring early summer. Unless you’re going to be constantly driving this vehicle on a race track your going to love driving a Stingray. Also the upkeep and maintenance on a ZO6 is probably going to cost a lot more then a Stingray so just get C8 Stingray and enjoy the heck out of it.
