2022 Corvette Stingray Makes Car And Driver 10Best List

The 2022 Corvette Stingray has been included on Car And Driver’s latest iteration of its coveted 10Best List.

The Car And Driver 10Best is recognized in the industry as one of the top awards an automaker can receive, serving as concrete recognition that its products are among the most impressive on sale today. The 2022 Corvette Stingray’s inclusion on the list is likely not very surprising to Chevy, however, as the mid-engine sports car also received a 10Best award for both 2020 and 2021.

Car And Driver says its love for the Corvette Stingray mainly stems from the vehicle’s overall value – especially when compared to competing offerings from rivals like Porsche, Audi and McLaren. The publication says the Corvette “delivers a supercar experience at a sports-car $62,195 starting price,” and also impresses with its build quality, comfort and quiet cabin.

“Whether you’re using it for a dull commute or a weekend away and with or without the truly excellent optional adaptive dampers, the ride isolation and interior noise levels are almost mid-size-sedan pleasant,” the publication says of the latest Corvette.

The Corvette Stingray was one of three sports cars included on the 2022 Car And Driver 10Best List – the other two being the Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman and the Toyota 86. Like the Chevy Corvette, both of these vehicles offer good value for money to performance enthusiasts and require little compromise when it comes to ownership costs, reliability and practicality.

Pricing for the 2022 Corvette Stingray starts at $62,195. The sports car is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2 LT2 V8 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque when equipped with the optional Performance Exhaust, which links up to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup enables the mid-engine Chevy to hustle from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 184 mph.

  5. I only have 6000 miles on my 2021 Z51. Drove it 75 miles to work today on my daily commute from about 3,000 foot elevation where I live down to sea level where I work. It was 40 degrees F most of the way. The car goes into V4 mode for economy for long stretches, which increases my miles per gallon. I really do love this car. No complaints. It is smooth, quiet, and also pretty fast when you need it.

  6. I will be doing my own oil change soon, and will change the transmission filter myself when it needs it. I had to purchase the trans filter, motor oil (Mobil1 ESP DeXos2 0w-40) online as no retailers carry these. I hope eventually we can buy oil at the store.

  7. Although Car and Driver and likely many of the other car oriented magazines rate the new C8 highly and one of the best, you can be assured that Consumer Reports will down grade it severely in almost all of their assigned categories and list it as “Least Reliable”. That’s if they even list it in their Category “Sports Cars”
