A group of Russian YouTubers recently posted a video of them taking a Hummer H2 based stretch limousine off-roading – an overly ambitious endeavour that ends with the heavy-set American SUV getting stuck in the mud.
We’re not fluent in Russian, so we initially had trouble understanding exactly what was going on in this video. Luckily our executive editor Alex Luft is from a Russian background, though, so he was able to fill us in. Apparently the clients that hired this Hummer H2 stretch limo live out in the countryside, so the best way to reach them was through a muddy, off-road path. We’re sure this was mostly done for fun and these clients have access to a regular gravel or paved road, but that wouldn’t make for a very interesting YouTube video, now would it?
We expected the Hummer H2 to get stuck pretty much immediately, but it actually fares pretty well off-road, powering through deep mud and traversing ruts in the road with relative ease. The length of the vehicle is what ultimately causes it to get stuck, with the limo bottoming out when the driver attempts to drive down a steep hill, partially lifting the front wheels off the ground. A friend with a much more capable Toyota Land Cruiser eventually frees the Hummer, though, and the group is able to continue on their way.
By the time this off-road adventure is over, the white Hummer H2 limo is covered in mud and overheating. The group waits for the Small Block V8 to cool off and are eventually able to drive the limo to a nearby paved road, but something tells us this will be its last off-road adventure for quite some time.
