General Motors applied countless changes to the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 – including changing the name of the entry-level work truck trim level from ‘Sierra’ to ‘Pro’. We’ve already seen gone over other 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 trim levels, including the Elevation, AT4X and the opulent Denali Ultimate, so now let’s turn our attention to the recently renamed, budget-minded Sierra Pro trim level.
The Sierra Pro is the most bare-bones trim level in the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 lineup. As such, it comes standard with 17-inch painted steel wheels, chrome-trimmed front and rear bumpers and black plastic wheel wells, door handles and mirror trim. The Sierra Pro also offers standard LED headlamps, taillights and daytime running lamps and comes equipped with the GMC Pro Safety suite of active safety technology. The GMC Pro Safety suite includes the following GM active safety tech: Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator and IntelliBeam.
As GM Authority reported previously, all models in the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 lineup are equipped with the new interior design with the exception of the Sierra Pro, which will continue with the same design as the outgoing model (pictured above).
Under the hood of the 2022 Sierra Pro is the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B, which is now rated at 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Customers will also be able to equip this base trim level with the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, which is rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder comes paired with an updated version of the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, while the L84 V8 links up with the more advanced GM 10-speed automatic.
The fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 is slated to hit dealers in Q1 of the 2022 calendar year. Pricing for the Sierra Pro trim level will start at $34,095 including destination. The truck is produced at the GM Silao plant in Mexico and GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana. It will also eventually enter production at the GM Oshawa Assembly plant in Ontario once renovation work at the Canadian facility is complete.

Ok guys, question Poll about colours : WHAT IS FOR YOU THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COLOUR OF GM ?
for me is the
1. SEAGLASS BLUE METALLIC …
2. AZUL SEEKER
it is pity GM CMF department does not much know what is greens anymore
None because it’s all cheap and cracks quickly.
ok… meant the design side only, but it is ok… no problem
had in a gm a deep violet purple but came with dragonfly eggs on roof, so understand your cheap side
Seaglass blue metalic
I still cannot believe that GM decided to stick with this Current interior on their lower Trim Levels.
It is so ridiculous .
Checked this PM Chevrolet’s 2022 LTD Canadian pricing which appeared today. GM have jacked the prices by about 4000$CAD and removed all rebates (another 4000$ depending the model), so there is a huge increase of 8,000$. I have a truck ordered but tonight I simply started to call Ford dealerships… I m super disappointed, really wanted to buy a Chevy 😔
When will we see the other Chevrolet trim levels? GMC just released their new trucks last week and we’re already seeing the other trims.
The pro and work truck should be getting exactly what was in the LTZ or Denali. This is somehow even worse, but not much.
Gotta pay for the crappy Lectrics.
Will the 2022 HD Diesel AT4s have shifter on colum or any at all interior upgrades.?
no, HDs are a model year behind. so 2023 will bring the updates and for HD owners the bigger news is an updated duramax and very likely the 10 speed on the gasser.
Why do l have to see all these damn Ram ads while l trying to read about GM Trucks?????? If l wanted to see Ram ads l would go to their site.
If it bothers you that much Mike go download an add blocker.
Mike, because you were looking at RAM trucks before looking at this link.. Google remembers your history via cookies and sends you ads according to your on line history. Dont believe me? Spend some time searching for toasters and looking at them and than watch what ads you get.
The badge is just out of place on the 2022 Silverado refresh. It’s like looking at a picture of someone who has a fly sitting on their nose. The badge belongs on the crossbar where it’s been for years. They really should have left the exteriors alone and concentrated on the interiors. I would love to see a full size GM truck with lower ground clearance. Call it the SS or whatever. At a certain age, it becomes harder to climb into these trucks. Alternatively, offer air suspension with entry/exit mode as with the full size GM SUVs.
