GMC Hummer EV Pickup To Offer Enhanced Off-Road Package

Off-roading enthusiasts interested in playing around on the local trails with the new GMC Hummer EV Pickup may want to upgrade with the Enhanced Off-Road Package, which provides even greater confidence when tackling the rough stuff.

Tagged with RPO code PCH, the Enhanced Off-Road Package bundles together a variety of rough stuff equipment for the GMC Hummer EV, including (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • 18-inch by 9-inch Black Aluminum Spare Wheel with machine Accents (SGX)
  • Spare Mud Terrain Tire LT305/70R18 e 126/123 R BW OOR (SC9)
  • Bed-Mounted Vertical Spare Tire Carrier (SEP)
  • Spare Tire Jack and Tool Kit (5Y2)
  • Off-Road Recover Kit (S1H)

The Enhanced Off-Road Package for the GMC Hummer EV is priced at $2,600.

Previously, GM Authority took a look at the optional Bed-Mounted Vertical Tire Carrier offered for the GMC Hummer EV, which includes a pair of mounting bars that bolt directly into the bed of the Pickup model. The bars provide a mounting point with enough space to fit a full-size spare in an upright position. What’s more, because the spare is mounted upright, there’s plenty of space left in the bed to accommodate whatever else you may want to toss in back. Pricing for the optional Bed-Mounted Vertical Tire Carrier as a standalone upgrade comes to $1,995.

The GMC Hummer EV also offers several other options, such as the Sky Convertible Top, which gives customers a chance to enjoy an open-air driving experience via a manually operated top that is directly integrated with the structure of the vehicle. Once passengers are ready to close the top, the Sky Convertible Top quickly folds back down.

Further options include the MultiPro Tailgate Audio System by Kicker, which integrates a pair of 4-inch coaxial speakers into the rear MultiPro tailgate for tunes on the fly. The rear-mounted stereo system is controlled via a weatherproof panel section, and provides an impressive 100 watts of sound.

  1. kinda small for being 5 tons. What is the tire cost on these ?

    1. Off-road tires cost $150+ just like passenger car tires. Of course GMC is offering 37″ optional tire on the Hummer for the serious off-roaders.

      1. No, GM is not offering optional 37″ tires for the Hummer EV, GM however did engineer the Hummer EV for 37″ tires to have clearance if someone wants to add them aftermarket. 37″ tires would look awesome, but drastically reduce the range.

        1. GM always changes their offerings at production time.

          1. Exactly, anything is available at the dealer, but that is aftermarket… GM only offers the Hummer Ev with 35″ tires period… Look up the RPO codes… No 37″ tire anywhere.

    2. The stock tires on the HummerEV SUT cost about $550 each, they are not cheap…

  2. The feature I’m most impressed with is the ability to control the weather. Its never muddy or raining where they are running, and I’d really like to see what an off-road recovery of a 5 ton battery looks like.

    1. You sound like you may know someone who gets a new Hummer EV and ends up jumping so high it breaks and makes the news.

      1. No, I don’t know anyone that thinks 5 ton on a trail is a good idea.

        1. Insult? Is that what that was? Like I said before, I’ll wait for the recovery videos. With wit like that, he’s only insulting himself.

  3. HUMMER EV OFF-ROAD SPECS
We’ve got more info on the GMC Hummer EV. It will have the same size profile as a GMC Sierra AT4 pickup, and will be as long and wide as a Ford Raptor. Thanks to its 4-wheel steering, it will have a turning radius less than a Tesla Model 3. When you raise the suspension to its fullest, what GMC calls Extract Mode, it has almost 16 inches of ground clearance, a nearly 50-degree approach angle and a 38-degree departure angle. It can climb over an 18 inch wall and drive through water that is 32 inches deep. Those are pretty good specs. GM claims the program only started 18 months ago, so it moved pretty quick. And what saved a ton of time is that it’s really built off the Cadillac Lyric EV.  Autoline Daily

    1. @Norm, why do you cut and paste the same BS everywhere you post, it’s incorrect here, and everywhere else. Structurally Hummer EV shares nothing with Lyriq and about the only shared electronic parts are the battery modules.

  4. Gm is setting up their models so if you run out of power an other EV can charge it fast to get you home. Now You just need to make sure you know someone with an GM EV.

    1. Doesn’t have to be another GM EV any EV that can do V2G or V2V would work, or one with an on board generator.

      1. Wrong again buddy.

    2. Not in the first gen HummerEV, which is only capable of 1400w of A/C power off boarding, Gen 2 HummerEV coming in 2023, will have something better, but there are conflicting reports of exactly what? GM is going to announce the Silverado EV soon, and the systems for that will give us an idea how much VTG GM is building in. I think they should do whatever is nessassary to match F150 lightning.

  5. so much more intelligent and offroad durable, would have been an TDI diesel mated to a generator (capacitors, not batteries) and motors at each wheel like the 1940s Marathon Letourneau titan trucks line they bought from GM. Thats “electric” but its not in the political narrative.

  6. I’ve seen several pre-production Hummers in our area and it’s freaking enormous. It looks like it weighs every ounce of its 5 tons, whereas most EVs look lighter than they actually are. I can’t imagine taking this off-road in the real world.
