Chevy Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD Recalled For Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Issue

General Motors has issued a product recall for certain 2021 through 2022 Chevy Silverado HD and 2021 through 2022 GMC Sierra HD vehicles due to a possible issue related to the vehicles’ brake pressure modulator valve.

The problem: in affected vehicles, the bolt which attaches the brake pressure modulator valve assembly may not be adequately tightened, and thus may fail to seal the two sub-assemblies.

The hazards: vehicles with inadequately attached brake pressure modulator valve assemblies could allow water intrusion. As a result, an electrical short circuit may occur, increasing the risk of fire.

The fix: affected vehicles will have the brake pressure modulator valve assembly replaced by their local dealer, free of charge.

Affected components: brake pressure modulator valve.

Affected vehicles:

Number of affected vehicles: a total of 3,241 vehicles are potentially affected by this recall.

Owners should: affected owners will receive a notification letter from General Motors, which is expected to be mailed out November 15th, 2021. Affected owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is completed.

  1. Is this another separate issue than the stop sale order they just called for a couple weeks ago? Has anyone heard information on that?

  3. My 2500 is sitting at the dealer due to the stop sale, so yes there is inventory. In my area alone I know of 11 trucks that can’t be sold until gm resolves it. Hoping this is related.

      1. Thanks, it’s been on hold since Sept 14 with a possible fire stop sale.

The stop sale came out literally the DAY we were going to sign the papers.

GM Hasn’t said a peep about what the issue us or when they will fix it.

          1. Good News! This recall is connected to the stop sale order on our truck. Dealer is waiting for the parts to come in and we can finally pick it up.

            1. Well that’s exciting! Hopefully everything comes in and gets repaired sooner rather than later!

  4. I made an appointment at Abeloff Buick GMC Kia and was immediately told the part would need to be ordered and I would need to come back. They also said the required service would take 5 hours and not the 2.5 covered by GM. Any way to get status of part availability? Waiting several weeks for part. Are dealers putting priority on repairs to in stock vehicles they cannot sell die to the recall?
