The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Chile sales continued their positive performance with a healthy increase in September, albeit with a significantly lower result than the massive increase of 110 percent and 3,992 deliveries posted in August. Although September results represent Chevrolet’s sixth consecutive increase in the Chilean market, the sales volume was not enough to make it the best-selling auto brand in the country, dropping it to second place in the South American country for the first time thus far in 2021.

This turn of events is the result of a drastic decrease in sales of the Chevy Sail, which has typically been the brand’s best-selling model in Chile. The movement was likely cased by supply constraints. Additionally, the 592-unit decrease of the Spark also contributed to Chevy losing the sales champ title.

Meanwhile, the new Chevy Groove began to establish itself as the brand’s best-selling model, both during month and during the first nine months of the 2021 calendar year.
