Callaway Cars recently uploaded a video to Instagram comparing the sports exhaust on its Chevy Silverado SC602 performance pickup truck to the factory exhaust equipped on stock 2019 through 2022 1500 models.
Of course, we think the #PowerfullyEngineered Chevy Silverado SC602 performance pickup truck sounds significantly better with the sports exhaust, which gives it a throatier rumble and gnarly bark upon startup. In stock form, the quieted exhaust sounds more like a large vacuum. Those who value NVH components (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) and prefer quieter exhaust will obviously not appreciate the more boastful exhaust note, but the rest of us will surely enjoy the improvement.

When the Connecticut-based tuner unveiled the supercharged Chevy Silverado Signature Edition after teasing the new tuning program back in February, the supercharged GM 6.2L L87 V8 engine was estimated to produce 585 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 567 pound-feet of torque at 3,850 rpm, courtesy of an Eaton TVS R2650 supercharger, a revised intake and a Callaway “Triple Cooled” intercooler setup. However, the official numbers actually ended up being even higher at an SAE-certified 602 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 560 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm – hence the SC602 moniker. For reference, a stock Chevy Silverado equipped with the available 6.2L L87 V8 engine makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Callaway’s internal testing also found that the Chevy Silverado SC602 performance pickup truck was able to hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, and complete the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 113 mph. To put that capability into perspective, Callaway published a previous comparison video, which pitted the supercharged Chevy against the Ram 1500 TRX. We highly recommend watching that video if you were intrigued by this exhaust comparison clip.
And now, a note on modified exhaust systems: for some, the feelings and sensations evoked by the sounds of an exhaust system are akin to what one might feel when listening to music. For others, the more audible exhaust provides a more visceral experience, enhancing the connection between truck and driver. And while there is contention within the auto enthusiast community over which powertrains provide the most pleasant auditory experience, it’s hard to find fault with the lovely sounds of an American V8. Wouldn’t you agree?

So cool it’s got a massive Callaway in the grill. People can look so cool now when they Jack their truck up and do burnouts.
Sounds like the muffler is eliminated… IMO, there is no smooth idle or during the WOT release. JMO
