The 2023 Corvette Z06 is nearly here, slated to make its grand entrance via video next week. To build hype for upcoming debut, General Motors has released a fresh teaser video filled with enticing tidbits, including the murky reflection of the new 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible.
GM Authority first reported that the new 2023 Corvette Z06 would be offered as both a Coupe and Convertible back in June of 2020.
In the latest 30-second teaser video, the new 2023 Corvette Z06 convertible makes a brief appearance around the 24-second mark. The video shows the new performance drop-top’s rear three-quarters view, including illuminated taillights and no roof. We also can see the Z06’s new split-seven-spoke wheels, which were revealed previously with an official image of the Coupe model last month.
Further details of the new go-faster Vette include the Convertible’s rear nacelles, a design feature also found on the Chevy Corvette C8 Stingray Convertible.
As GM Authority covered previously, the teaser video provides a few hints regarding the 2023 Corvette Z06’s engine spec as well, specifically the 8,600-rpm redline for the mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. With a flat-plane crank and sky-high rev limit, the new 2023 Corvette Z06 promises to provide not only an exhilarating driving experience, but also an exotic-sounding exhaust note. As well it should, considering the LT6 is based on the same V8 that powers the Corvette C8.R race car. Output is expected to be measured at around 615 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.
Further highlights of the 2023 Corvette Z06 will include a widebody treatment and revised front fascia, while the profile features new “wishbone” side intake trim. In back, expect new spoilers and a center-mounted exhaust with quad tips.
We’ll undoubtedly have more to say about the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06 as its debut on October 26th approaches, so stay tuned. In the meantime, make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more mid-engine Corvette news, Corvette C8 news, Corvette news, Chevy news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

the C8 Corvette is the greatest car ever made, performance per dollar. The BASE C8 Vette can beat a Challenger Hellcat at the quarter mile, this Z06 is going to be a monster.
The greatest car ever made? Umm does the Mclaren F1 ring a bell? The Ferrari 250 GTO, The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, F40 I would put a lot of cars above the C8
Performance per $
Yup still the Mclaren F1 sorry. You can’t beat that car for what it Initially sold for it’s just not happening.
It’s not really fair to compare anything to the F1 though. All those other cars you named are great to but I feel the F1 is just it’s own thing Gordon did such a good job on it nothing will ever surpass it except maybe the T50 which is also his.
Yup I agree. I love the corvette all generations, and I think they did a fantastic job with the C8 but I always laugh when someone tries to compare whatever vehicle to a Mclaren F1. There is a reason only 106 exist.
Agreed but what would happen if GM decided to build a limited exclusively designed version of the Vette? We can only wonder?
That would be interesting wouldn’t it. I would like the budget to be whatever they needed and whatever materials they wanted to use would also be available, then not be pushed for time I think they could do an awesome exclusive corvette.
He said performance per dollar. Nothing compares with the Corvette in that category.
Lets not lose sight of the parameters value per dollar. A base vette can equal or breat most of those at one third the cost. How many can afford a F1 or Ferrari. But a base vette is within most peoples budget.
The Mclaren F1 costs 20.5 million dollars, a C8 Corvette costs $70,000. You can buy 293 C8 Corvettes for the price of 1 McLaren F1. Corvette is better in my books.
The F1 is all about the driving experience. Gordon Murray designed it specifically for that to be the greatest road car of all time, one reason you have 3 seats instead of 2 and the driver in the middle. I look at it like this just like the corvette is made to be an awesome driving experience which it is so is the F1. The corvette designers aren’t allowed the budget to make something like the F1 and the F1 was very costly to make hence only 106 ever made. The price is high but that’s not the original price it was. I think both are fantastic automobiles that will be in the history books no matter what the future holds. I don’t compare the 2 because they are both very different vehicles. You could take a ride in either one and I guarantee you wouldn’t be disappointed. Fun fact if you are ever in Florida F1 chassis #22 is on display at the Revs institute in Naples Florida go check it out if you get a chance.
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is a straight line car, the Z06 would kill it on the track.
With this power and expense unless you’re Jordan, Bezos or even Howie Mandel alot of toupee wearers will be exposed at the country club…🙂🙃🙂…
How’s that? They will just buy one themselves
Still anxious for the actual reveal on the 26th
I still dont understand whats so great about that mclarenf1 but its price tag lol
Well that’s to much to explain here but there is some great YouTube videos explaining everything. Check a few out. There is a reason nobody has ever made a car like it again until Gordon Murray made the T50 who is also the creator of the F1. I’m a massive corvette fan all generations but the hype is real on the F1 it’s an icon for a reason.
