2023 Cadillac Lyriq Will Be Offered In Satin Steel And Stellar Black Colors

When the Cadillac Lyriq launches in the first half of next year, it will offer a very limited range of options, including two sets of wheels and two exterior colors: Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic. Let’s take a closer look at the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq exterior color options.

Satin Steel Metallic

Stellar Black Metallic

Either exterior color can be paired with either interior color combination, which includes Noir or Sky Cool Gray. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the Stellar Black color option will have late availability and will carry an extra charge, the amount of which is currently unknown.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is priced to start at $59,990 in the U.S. and $69,898 in Canada. Reservations opened for the Lyriq Debut Edition earlier this month and sold out in just over 10 minutes. With that said, anticipation of the upcoming luxury, mid-size, electric CUV appears to be remarkably high.

The Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, tipping the scales at a significant 5,610 pounds. It’s powered by GM’s new Ultium battery and Ultium drive. In standard form, it comes equipped with a 100.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, good for an estimated 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.

Other standard equipment includes a panoramic glass moonroof, an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system, active noise cancellation, eight-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats with massage function, a heated steering wheel, a digital 33-inch digital display/driver information cluster and Super Cruise.

It’s highly likely that more colors will join the Cadillac Lyriq lineup over the next few years, so we rendered the Lyriq in all kinds of different colors.

  1. Canceled my order after all the issues on my C8 2021. Another transmission gone. No loaner program at the dealership
    Seriously!
GM is is back in the 70s. 100k car and no loaner, dealership doesn’t even do a walk around to check car in.

    1. Sounds like a dealer issue, not GM. Loaner vehicles is a dealer offering. My brother has a C8 and the first thing he bragged about was the smoothness of the transmission. You may a bad one out of the bunch.

      1. Last count 4100 transmission issues 11% give or take. GM first with valve issues and now this. The good part being a consultant in the rent industry I just canceled an order fir over 10M in GM cars, told my dealers to go Toyota Hyundai and VW. Stay away from GM.
Car was filed under lemon.law. Guess I see a 2022 coming and then going to the auction.

So ALL of those issues with your C8 arose AFTER you reserved a Lyriq ???

You suddenly remembered all those historic issues with GM only AFTER reserving a Lyriq ?

I didn’t realize GM sold $100k cars in the 70s. Name one.

ALL of this transpired since you (claim) to have reserved a Lyriq ?

      ALL THAT in 12 days?

      I call BS.

No reason to get so defensive over what a stranger says we get it he said something about the C8 and you don’t like that because you have a hot wheels version.

    3. My dealer of Cadillac, Buick, GMC and Chevy comes 62 miles, one-way, with a loaner on a flat bed and picks up my 2020 Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury for routine service (oil change, tire rotation). They have done this for my all of the cars we bought from them over the past 20+ years. I have always gotten a comparable or better loaner when they come after the car. Last one was a brand new Escalade. I have had 10 cars from this dealership and they have always provided me with exceptional service, before and after the sale.
My wife still drives her 2002 Caddy DHS and they pick it up when it needs services.

Yes, GM has it’s issues, but who want a freaking ugly Toyota or Hyundai? Take a look at their service centers and you’ll see a boat load of their “reliable” vehicles there for service. We are near one of the largest dealers in Illinois with the great cars and their service department is swamped according to their service manager. By the way, the service manager drives a new Chevy Malibu.

You have a dealership problem, so don’t lump all products into the bad one that you have. Keep your rice burners and coal blowing diesels. I’ll stick with GM as long as I can.

      1. My caddy dealer is not quite as good as yours, but always offers a loaner. Just not an escalade! Last time was an XT4. And they do this for anything over an hour. Now chevy dealers I’ve dealt with in town are not quite as good. But even the chevy dealers have always provided a loaner for overnight issues. I had a the tranny flush done on my vette and they gave me a malibu since it was an overnight. Anything same day they have not offered me a loaner.

    4. Owned GM cars my whole life, and I have never had a single transmission issue or repair. I currently own a 2021 Corvette, 2017 Cadillac XT5 and 2010 Buick Lacrosse. I guess you either abuse the cars or do not maintain them.

      Reply
      1. S WestphL… Unfortunately people do abuse automatic transmissions… I see people all the time just go from park to drive then you hear a loud clunk and they wonder why the transmission breaks, or people will down shift an automatic into a lower gear going down hills (and the particular automatic has no shift mode built in) then they blame the car or the car manufacturer because they abused the vehicle. I to have owned six GM vehicles and God Bless them all I have never had transmission trouble.. knock on wood…But my friends 2011 Toyota Rav 4L V6 with low miles needed a brand new transmission.

                  1. How much money do you make for your tax to go up? The mail if you are referring to usps has sucked for decades so are you new to sending and receiving packages? The 8 trillion you are referring to $4.24 trillion of that alone came because of Covid relief packages and help that was given. Sorry about your supposed family business but your business is irrelevant to peoples lives. You don’t like the response take that up with your governor.

And you are blaming fauci for the poor Covid response right? He was the one telling the president at the time what they should do. So am I correct that he is who you are referring to?

                  4. Fake name fake troll account you forgot a few things. Part of the trillions of dollars of national debt you forgot to mention is the fact that some of that $ is what the U.S. owes to itself. Also please mention next time how it went up $8.1 trillion while Obama/Biden were in office. Also a lot of the debt had bipartisan support for the relief packages you failed to mention that to so this is just a reminder. You also failed to mention that when trump took office in January 2017 the nonpartisan congressional budget office was already estimating a budget deficit of $559 billion for fiscal 2017. With hundreds of billions in yearly deficits each year thereafter reaching a trillion dollar deficit by 2023. But you do have some things to be happy about like the fact Biden is adding a lot and he hasn’t even been in one full year yet.

All auto makers hold back at first, Cadillac said they will offer more color and features options as well as all wheel drive. This is the base lyriq luxury, there’s more to come like the lyriq sport, lyriq premium luxury, maybe lyriq with platinum package and a v- series. Also I saw the lyriq test mule during test in a video and it had a tan interior. Not lieing!

Hey Cardriver did you ever hear of BMW, Mercedes, or Audi or any of the luxury marks just offering two or three colors at first? They do it all the time on new models because the buyers of the first cars feel special and exclusive! Besides I don’t think the Lyric would look good in Bright colors like Suburbs Pop Sickle Orange lol! And yes I am ok with two colors to start with… Of course they will add more colors SMH shaking my head some people just don’t get it!

      1. Wreck111 : Sorry to hear about the problems with your new Corvette….

GM has done some horrendous things in the past – mainly to truck buyers, with defective engines in the Colorado, and exploding Bosch oil pumps in the diesels….. However, the electric treatment has been pretty good.

They are currently selling ZERO plug-ins until they get the battery situation under control…..Since they (unwisely in my opinion) are placing so much emphasis on Battery-Electrics (100% BEV) – their IMAGE is at stake if they don’t get the release of these cars pretty perfect….

The BOLT 100% recall and replacement of ALL batteries, and resetting the warranty clock back to zero – is part of this apparent TOTAL COMMITMENT to reliable electrics..

Crappy Corvettes and poor dealer experiences are an eye opener however – as GM certainly does not need the bad publicity.

Spy shots of C8 Corvette testing have been coming out since before the C7 hit the market. So long that GMauthority readers have often speculated about the cars coexisting as part of an independent Corvette brand. C8 Corvette owners would have put deposits down long in advance, and know a good part of it’s development history by the time they take delivery. In short they wouldn’t be complaining about not getting a loaner car.

  7. Just plain ugly. It looks even worse in those images. No grace, no elegance, no timelessness of design. The giant light-up plastic front end may at first glance seem novel but it’s cheesy and tacky. It might be okay for a commodity brand but It’s not befitting of Cadillac’s esteemed design heritage. Likewise I fail to understand why we need hockey stick tail-lamps reaching for the C-pillar. High-end products are not trendy, they have evolutionary designs that retain timeless forms. An S-Class, Rolls Royce, or 911 possess that characteristic. They never follow fashion but remain true to their own past so as to remain iconically chiseled but ever improving. If Cadillac seeks a new design direction, their concepts were excellent; Sixteen, Elmiraj, and Escala had a classic, pure Cadillac forms reimagined for a new era. They didn’t resort to awkward, weird gimmicks to try and stand out.

I realize few here want to hear my negative opinion. I also realize, as I stated earlier this week, that I am not the demographic Cadillac is seeking today. Therefore, naturally this product has no appeal to me. I know Cadillac is done with the Brooks Brothers crowd and the old-money folks. They’ve been scorning the brand for years anyway. Instead it seems Cadillac now seeks to win over urban strivers whose taste skews more contemporary and in-your-face. Maybe the Lyriq will find favor with its target but I’m pretty certain it has a design that, like the similarly festooned Aztek before it, won’t age well. All that to me is a shame. A few years ago, I still thought Cadillac had the potential to reclaim their former glory. I thought they should aim for that – aim to be the pinnacle. Obviously the ever-changing crew running the show at Cadillac thought differently. While I know my words won’t be appreciated, I think in time they will be found to be correct. This design has no staying power.
