The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited Regular Cab is no longer available with Oxford Brown exterior paint, GM Authority can confirm.
Oxford Brown exterior paint is tagged with paint code GNK, and was previously available on all configurations of the 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited Regular Cab. It’s currently unclear how many 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited Regular Cab orders were processed with the Oxford Brown exterior paint for the 2022 interim model year, if any at all.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited Regular Cab is also currently unavailable in Shadow Grey Metallic paint, tagged with paint code GJI. Shadow Grey Metallic was previously available on all 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited trim levels except the top-of-the-line High Country.
Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited initially kicked off at the GM Silao Assembly plant in Mexico last month on September 20th, while production at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana began September 27th.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited serves as a “stop-gap” model that bridges the pre-refresh 2021 model year and the fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. The fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado made its big debut earlier last month with a long list of updates and changes over the preceding 2021 model year.
Among these changes is an all-new exterior design, including a new front fascia highlighted by a revised grille insert, new headlights, and a new lower bumper. The interior of the pickup was also completely overhauled with the introduction of the 2022 model year refresh, featuring a new layout and a 13.4-inch color touchscreen.
Also notable is the introduction of the new 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2, which arrives as the top off-roading trim level of the refreshed 2022 model year lineup. Standout features for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 include a jacked-up ride height, front and rear e-lockers, underbody skid plate protection, and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

How about GM sell the single cab short bed in the states? I believe they make them here for the middle east? You could even put the LT4 in a version and call it the Silverado SS. Now that would be cool and would give us another semi affordable alternative to the Camaro.
Only problem is it wouldn’t be affordable….GM would charge a premium and then the stealerships would tack on $20k on top of it.
All great points. Put the 6.6 liter gas engine in it. That should cut the costs down a little. Can’t do much about the dealerships. If stupid people didn’t pay the premium markups then they wouldn’t do it. Stupid people are ruining it for all of us.
I am with you 100%. Had I have know this in 2018 I would have traded in my 2012 and bought a new one. Please do not force me to buy a Ford to get the single cab regular bed. You are building them already, just sell me one!
I bought a 2017 Silverado Short Bed Reg cab and it will probably be the last full size GM truck I will ever buy. I don’t need an extended cab or crew cab, but if GM decides to offer the current truck in a reg cab short bed then I’m all in! Offer it with the 6.2L and I’m hooked!
Since they already make them here, how damn hard would it be to pull one off the line and sell it? I don’t see the request being unreasonable, since it’s “RIGHT HERE” anyway, sell it to me!
In the words of Triumph the insult dog, “For me to poop on”!
The end of reg cab continues. They killed short bed and now they’re slowly killing long bed. Another Barra better idea. Horrible color by the way.
Can somebody help me figure out what’s going on? I have seen people say several times now that gm is killing the regular cab long beds is this true? I do concrete and the long bed is crucial for me as every inch matters. I currently own an older regular cab Silverado but I plan on getting a new one once the chip issues settles down. Thanks ahead of time for any help anyone gives I appreciate it.
They aren’t killing the long bed. It’s the bread and butter of the work trucks.

I was also looking for a regular cab long box of either the Silverado or the Sierra and it was impossible to find. I went to one of my local chevy dealerships to talk to a salesman and when I told him what I was interested in he then seemed uninterested in me. Anyways I got a new 2021 Ram Tradesman Regular Cab With the 8’ box. I went to my local ram dealership and they were very helpful I placed my order several months ago and got my truck close to a month ago. The salesman at the ram dealership was great to work with I was able to get the 5.7L V8 Hemi, also got a low volume color, the LED bed lights, rear sliding window, and the spray in bed liner. They gave me a great deal on it. If you can’t find a Silverado or Sierra check out the ram I do fencing myself and I couldn’t be happier.
What color did you choose? And if you don’t mind me asking what was the final sale price? And is there anything you don’t like about it so far or is it to soon to tell?
I got the low volume light green color. It might not be for everyone but I live in a pretty big city so I needed something to stand out to help draw attention to my business and it has worked so far. The only thing I don’t care for but I had no choice in the matter is the touchscreen. I prefer just regular knobs, I did ask them if I could delete the touchscreen but they said that is not an option but oh well it’s not big it’s only a 5 inch display. The final sale price was around $32k they gave me a good deal on it.
I went to the ram website and did the build and price I saw the color you got I like it it’s a nice looking color. I actually picked new Holland blue for my build. I’m going to go to a ram dealership this weekend and talk to them and see what they will offer me. I also don’t care for touchscreens but I have to agree at least the 5 inch isn’t anything huge. Thanks for all the insight I greatly appreciate it.
GM needs to get their head out of their Arse and build a two door truck that is higher end model than a work truck.
I do not think the braindead corporate elites understand how many of us would buy such a truck in a “heartbeat”.
Yes, because they sold so many of the 2014-2018 Regular Cab LTs. Oh wait, they sold so few, they decided to no longer offer the regular cab in the LT trim level.
Nice put down Shane I see you are at it early today.
Not my fault you don’t like facts.
How many insults do you need to throw today before you feel better? I will guess you will attack at least 5 more people today.
They didn’t sell many High Country and they still make them!
Chill with the personal attacks bro.
My boy Shane with the insults and personal attacks I see you my guy. 😎
I agree, I have been waiting since 2018 to buy a new regular cab since they quit making them in an LT. Hate the ugly cheap looking work truck front end. I was expecting to see what changes there were for the 2022 refresh but I can’t find a regular cab refresh, has anyone seen any pictures of the refresh regular cab? If so where?
