Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited is starting today at General Motors’ Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Roanoke, Indiana.
Meanwhile, production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited began at the General Motors’ Silao plant in Silao, Mexico on October 4th.
Order books for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited opened July 15th. The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited serves as a stop-gap model that bridges the pre-refresh 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, offering most of the same features and content as the pre-refresh 2021 model year.
That said, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited does introduce some changes and updates compared to the preceding 2021 model year. Among these is deletion of the Double Cab configuration for Custom Trail Boss models, as well as deletion of the HD Radio option and deletion of the single-zone air conditioning feature.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited also introduces a variety of mechanical changes. Among these is the deletion of the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV3 gasoline engine and deletion of the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L82 gasoline engine. The MYC six-speed automatic transmission was also deleted.
Furthermore, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is now standard on WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trim levels, while the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 is standard on RST Crew Cab models, and available on WT models. The 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine is also available on LT Trail Boss models.
General Motors just recently unveiled the fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, debuting new exterior styling, a completely overhauled cabin space, and the latest tech features. The full model refresh also introduces the new Chevy Silverado ZR2, a range-topping off-roader trim level, while GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system is offered for High Country trims.

Obsolete, cheap junk, save the chips for other vehicles.
Rubbing it in showing rcsb. Ridiculous.
yea, they make them, but AMERICANS can’t buy them, they get shipped overseas. GM really has me pissed off about this. GM Exec’s really need to get their head outta their arse before they lose all their customers. Don’t know who makes these stupid decisions, but they need to be shown the door. *Corporate Stupidity* Can kill a company, and GM is about to find that out.
Are you a Ford dealer? And if so, why are you commenting here?
This is a forum about cars dude if you have a issue with people commenting on a forum about cars no matter what they drive or where they work then the real question is why are you here?
Wow.
Why is the first picture a GMT900?
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was what they were going to peddle.
still carrying on with something that should have never hit production in 18
No double cab limited 2022 trail boss are you sure?????
I doubt if many doubles will be made at all they have been in push the crews mode for years.
They need to bring back the Reg Cab with the Standard Bed in LT version.
1.A low volume seller.
2.Someone explained on here that the EPA takes in consideration the weight or square footage of the vehicle for emissions or fuel economy.
3.It no longer makes any fiscal sense to get a optioned reg.cab,a double or crew especially crew has a much better resale value.
I will keep my RCSB LT stepside alive as long as I am.
yea, the stupid CAFE rules. Another stupid Govt. mandate.
I will bet my left nut the CARB came up with that one.
I may be odd man out, but, losing HD radio would be a factor for me. My local college has HD channels, and I use them.
I agree with you about HD Radio. I think the same way about the delete of the CD player.
I 3rd that motion also put the fog lights back on.
Just talked with my dealer about my order / the situation about the L3 diesel… still no ETA at their level about when GM will restart the production of that engine. 🙁
JUST GIMME A SWB TRUCK WITH COLUMN SHIFT – in WT configuration. (I’ll buy ’em by the dozen).
All the new engines and Transmissions are junk in the 20 and 21 something hope they fixed that. I’m a Chevy man and I wouldn’t own anything 2016 and newer
Also the new allison Transmissions will be made by GM so I’m sure they will be junk also
I have not heard of issues with 10 speeds.
I have 2015 with 5.3 motor and the six speed. It is the worse transmission I have ever had in a truck. My 2002 had the 4L60 or 4L80 and it was a great transmission. The six speed shifts and sometimes makes funny noise. Plus, if you are getting on the interstate and need some acceleration. Good Luck… It seems like the truck will just sit there and downshift 10 times and then take off. I don’t know if it is transmission or the way it is programed for gas mileage. GM will not have a transmission as a option. My 1989 had manual with one overdrive and loved it!!
I have a 2020 Trail Boss 5.3 and a 10 speed. The most smoothest driving truck I have ever owned.
Is it a short bed? Is it coming to US dealerships?
South america and the middle east only
Wait 10 years, engine and tranny conversations will be as scarce as saying Merry Christmas. I’m a retired assembly grunter from Oshawa, having built hundreds of thousands of GMT400 and 800 trucks and the changes in product is baffling to me sometimes. I feel like Tommy Lee Jones in No Country For Old Men!!! Much has changed. 😬
Quit building cars with all these gadgets for the rich or people that just buy them and right them off on their business . Start building regular cars that go from a to b that’s what we need most of us can’t afford 70,000 for a pickup
