2022 Chevy Silverado Limited Vs 2021 Silverado: Pricing Comparison

The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited serves as a stop-gap model between the pre-refresh 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 and fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, offering much of the same content, trim levels, and features as the 2021 model year, but for 2022. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited with this in-depth price comparison.

Order books for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited opened July 15th, with production at the GM Silao plant in Silao, Mexico ramping up October 4th, and production at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Roanoke, Indiana ramping up October 11th.

Although the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited is similar to the pre-refresh 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, there are a few changes and updates worth noting. For starters, the engine lineup deletes the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV3 gasoline engine and naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L82 gasoline engine, as well as the MYC six-speed automatic transmission.

Additionally, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is equipped as standard on WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trim levels, while the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 is standard on RST Crew Cab models and optional on WT models. Finally, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax is optional on LT Trail Boss models.

Further differences between the 2021 model year and 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited include deletion of the HD Radio option and single-zone air conditioning, while Double Cab body configurations are no longer offered for Custom Trail Boss models.

With that covered, we also find there is a variety of pricing differences between the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited and preceding 2021 model year. These range from a minimum of $675 and a maximum of $2,395 depending on the model and configuration.

To note, each of the MSRPs listed in the table below include a $1,695 Destination Freight Charge, and do not include any potential customer credits for missing components. For example, General Motors is including a $50 for models that are missing Automatic Engine Stop/Start, $50 for models missing Active Fuel Management / Dynamic Fuel Management, $100 for models missing heated rear seats, and $20 for models missing a Climate Control Knob Digital Temperature Display.

  1. Cool chart, thank you GMAuthority. I’m waiting for my 3L Diesel High Country, still stuck in the queue because of the halt of production of the diesel engine. My dealership told me that there would be an increase in the price. let’s hope there will be rebates in the upcoming weeks and months for this outgoing model and the diesel engine can be built again so I can get my ride…

At least I know the port of Long Beach, one of the largest one.

    3. I would imagine you would have to use the method used by millions of people in the past. “ yeah that’s about right”, it’s called common sense, if it feels comfortable it’s good. I don’t have to have a digital read out to tell me I’m too hot or too cold, I have enough sense to feel it.

  3. I think custom trail boss with the 6.2 was the hidden gem of all trucks in the past couple of years. Now Chevy has realized it and marked it up the most.

  6. GM have updated this PM the Canadian version of the Silverado configurator. Before any discount, the 2022 LTD truck which I’m waiting for, costs 800 USD$ more that the 2021 model on the US site. On the Canadian site, the same thing costs almost 4,000 CAD$ more / roughly 3000 USD$. That’s very nasty… Not gonna end well for both the customers and GM if they ask too high prices. Not sure now what I’m gonna do about my order…

  7. I just received my new model 2022 Silverado and am completely shocked to find that some idiot made the decision to completely remove all 12V auxiliary power outlets. Yes there is 110 and USA but most of us have tire pumps, radar detectors, lights, handheld GPS, etc. that require 12V. NOT THE 5V PROVIDED BY USB OR 110V EXTENSION CABLES RUN ALL OVER THE TRUCK.
