2022 Chevy Camaro Design Packages Highly Constrained

The three Design Packages offered for the 2022 Chevy Camaro are currently highly constrained with little to no availability. Availability for the packages is not expected to open up again until at least the end of the calendar year.

The three Design Packages for the 2022 Chevy Camaro are dubbed Design Package 1, Design Package 2, and Design Package 3. The packages were previously offered 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, and 2SS trim levels, including both 2022 Chevy Camaro Coupe and 2022 Chevy Camaro Convertible models. However, the three packages are not offered for LS or ZL1 trim levels.

All three Design Packages were previously offered in conjunction with three specific exterior paint color options, namely Vivid Orange Metallic (paint code GCF), Rapid Blue (paint code GMO), and Wild Cherry Tintcoat (paint code GSK). Additionally, all three 2022 Chevy Camaro Design packages require the RS Package (RPO code WRS) when optioned on 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trim levels.

Common items between all three packages include the Camaro logo wheel center caps (RPO code 5ZB) and premium carpeted floor mats with the Camaro logo (RPO code VYW). The rest of the content is unique between the individual packages. Check out GM Authority’s breakdown of the three 2022 Chevy Camaro Design Packages content in our previous comparison post.

As GM Authority covered back in April, the Wild Cherry Design Package 1 was renamed simply Design Package 1, while the Wild Cherry Design package 2 was renamed simply Design Package 2. Despite the name change, the content for both packages remains more or less the same, with the exception of a change in availability with regard to paint colors.

The 2022 Chevy Camaro introduces the seventh model year of the latest sixth-generation vehicle, ushering in a few minor changes and updates compared to the previous 2021 model year. As GM Authority covered previously, it was previously uncertain when the sixth-gen Chevy Camaro would be discontinued, but now, it looks like the model will sunset in 2024 with a farewell special edition package.

  • I read all that. what did it actually say I ordered a 22 Camaro April 8 2021 cannot find anything about it. dealer says call Chevrolet and they say call your dealer. I don't think GM wants to sell anything what the people want. Management has decided on trucks Suvs and electric that sucks.

    • John I have the print out of Camaros build from Thursday to Thursday.. People on the WEB. keep saying I don't know what I'm saying . So here off the print out No 2SS No 1SE 10 red line No shock steel No V-6 No 3LT. this is at 10:15 this morning.. Yes I still have a Priority 1 on my Camaro Convertible

          • In other words, plant management has no clue when full production will ever take off.

It was time to replace my 2012 Silverado, no GMC or Silverado's to be found to my liking. Only three units at my Chevy Dealer. I broke ranks and leased a RAM Laramie. About 50 trucks at the RAM dealer but only two with the cocoa brown/beige interior. Very happy, even the wife likes it. At the end of the lease in 36 months the Canyon/Colorado will be a new model and I'll take a good look at them.

          • Nice. I might be able to save up for the car - no loan necessary. Haha.

Good choice. New RAMs are really good. I am Mopar guy myself - trying to add something different from GM to my stable with Camaro.
