2022 Cadillac XT4 Gets New Safety Alert Package

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 ushers in a few small updates and changes, arriving as the fourth model year for the first-generation luxury crossover. Among the updates is the introduction of a new Safety Alert Package.

The new Safety Alert Package for the 2022 Cadillac XT4 is tagged with RPO code B26, and is offered as an optional extra for Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, but not the entry-level XT4 Luxury. The package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

Notably, all of these safety technology features were previously fitted as standard on the 2022 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, but they are now optional. These features are not available on the base-level 2022 Cadillac XT4 Luxury.

Pricing information for the 2022 Cadillac XT4’s Safety Alert Package isn’t available yet.

Further updates slated for introduction with the 2022 Cadillac XT4 crossover include the new Premium Comfort and Convenience Package. Tagged with RPO code ZM9, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 Premium Comfort and Convenience Package includes a variety of upgrades for the cabin, with highlights like an 8-way power passenger seat adjuster (A7K), front passenger power lumbar massage (AKE), and driver and front passenger ventilated seats (KU9), among other things.

There’s also the new Comfort Package (Y55), which includes some of the same content as the Premium Comfort and Convenience Package, as GM Authority covered previously.

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 also deletes three exterior paint options, namely Autumn Metallic (paint code GM6), Shadow Metallic (paint code GJI), and Garnet Metallic (paint code GLR), while the optional red brake calipers offered for the 2021 model year have also been deleted. Finally, General Motors’ new Inteluxe leatherette seat upholstery makes its debut on the 2022 Cadillac XT4.

Under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 is motivated by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which mates to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

No blind side or cross traffic alert? What is wrong with GM. This is a Caddy. Toyota has it standard as does other cheaper cars like the Corola. No wonder GM’s market is shrinking. Bean counters doing their self destruct moves as GM’ market goes away.

Tom, you are absolutely, 100% correct! Toyota has long offered all of the latest safety gear as standard on essentially all of their vehicles. How this is “optional” on a 2022, top of the line XT4 is hard to comprehend.

Those Cadillac incompetent dorks are not able in 4 years to add Super Cruise to the XT4 SUVs. Something is seriously wrong with them. GM should remove (fire) them.

Before you buy an XT4 compare it to an OUTBACK Touring XT. The Outback has ALL the safety features standard, as well as Leather seats and a more powerful engine, NAV and AWD at a lower price. I found the XT4 to be noisy, unrefined and CHEAP.

I guess Cadillac is getting rid of features I have on my GMC. Seems a little (?) backward to me.

I hate government mandates but these should be on every new car. Saves life’s and reduces a lot of crashes with people not looking before changing lanes. I think it’s great my mirrors lighting up.
