The Motor Bella outdoor auto show will kick off at the M1 Concourse circuit in Michigan later this month – and General Motors will be there presenting its new 2022 GMC Hummer EV SUV.
The Detroit Auto Dealers Association helped organize the outdoor Motor Bella show after the annual North American International Auto Show in downtown Detroit had to be put off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show will be held on the grounds of M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan and will include traditional auto show displays, along with ride along experiences and even charity vehicle giveaways.
General Motors’ booth at the event will “showcase the company’s rich motorsports legacy,” the show organizers said, suggesting the automaker will display successful race cars from its past and perhaps current day race cars as well, like the Corvette C8.R and Cadillac DPi-V.R for example. Sitting alongside the motorsports display will be current and future GM electrified products, including the 2022 GMC Hummer EV SUV. The automaker will also host a media luncheon and panel discussion on the legacy, and the future of racing and motorsports within the company.
The Lost Corvettes will also have a dedicated 6,000-square-foot space at Motor Bella, where 12 refurbished classic Corvettes from the 1953 to 1989 model years will be presented. GM Authority has reported on the Lost Corvettes in the past, which were previously part of an art project dreamt up by pop artist Peter Max that never materialized. The Lost Corvettes group is holding a national sweepstakes campaign to give away all 36 cars from the collection and raise money for a non-profit called Stand for the Troops.
Motor Bella will kick off on September 21st, 2021 and will conclude on September 26th. Showgoers can look out for the Motor Bella smartphone app to launch prior to the event start next Tuesday, which will be the “ultimate go-to resource with maps, exhibitor info, schedules and more,” organizers said.
