The Los Angeles Auto Show has announced new signature awards program aimed at honoring the latest in consumer electric vehicles. Dubbed the LA Auto Show Zero-Emission Vehicle Awards, or ZEVAS, the new accolades will make their debut appearance at the 2021 LA Auto Show in November.
Per Pew Research, Los Angeles is the top market for new electric and hybrid vehicle sales, making the LA Auto Show a good venue for these new awards. What’s more, according to the June 2021 LA Auto Show Consumer Attendee Survey, show attendee interest in zero-emission vehicles has increased by 79 percent in the last 15 months.
As such, the new LA Auto Show ZEVAS will highlight new and established automakers and the latest in zero-emission vehicles currently on sale of available for pre-order, including a variety of different categories, such as “Family,” “Adventure,” “Workhorse,” “Personal,” and “Commuter,” among others.
“Electrification is the biggest transformation the auto industry has experienced in 100 years,” said CEO and owner of the LA Auto Show, Lisa Kaz. “With accelerating consumer interest in electric vehicles, there is no better place for the new car and truck buyer to learn about, experience and compare the latest and greatest electric vehicles and gas-powered models all in one convenient place.”
The inaugural LA Auto Show Zero-Emission Vehicle Awards will take place Wednesday, November 17th, during the annual AutoMobility LA two-day press and trade event. Meanwhile, the LA Auto Show will be opened to the public November 19th through the 28th, once again taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
General Motors has stated that it will launch a total of 30 new EVs globally by 2025, investing billions into developing new all-electric vehicle technology. A few recent examples of GM’s latest EV efforts include the refreshed Chevy Bolt EV and all-new Chevy Bolt EUV, the all-new GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV, and the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq luxury crossover.
To note, the LA Auto Show was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was pushed back to May, but was later rescheduled again following a resurgence of COVID-19 in the U.S.

Decided to give electric a try. Wife leased a new 2020 Kia Niro EV a couple of months ago, as the total $15,250., rebate was a great incentive on a $41k list car. She loves it. If she is Happy…I drove it once, and my initial impression was how much it is like a normal, what we are all use to, type of auto. She has been a Jeep person for years. So far so good. Charge it , level 2, at home about every 2 weeks, when it gets down to 50 miles, think of about a 1/4 tank in your “normal” car.
So I decide to try a ’21 Kia Sorento, “S” Hybrid, non plug in. Simply a amazing $35k list, Sporty looking, roomy and good ride.
The gas mileage, is outstanding for a almost 4,000 pound vehicle. Mid to high 30’s intown and mid 30’s highway. Well seems like Kia has done their home work. As my ’20 Hemi Durango was 10-12 intown. It’s been years since we have had imports, so if these vehicles are indicative of the future, we all win.
It is going to be canceled anyways hahahahahaha
Everyone’s in LA a “zero” lol
